What Will 2014 Hold for Israel... for Christians?

We are at the end of 2013... a year of unprecedented events politically, religiously, and one with cataclysmic disasters of Biblical proportions worldwide.  Nation is rising against nation; the seas are roaring; signs in the heavens and earthquakes and famines occur at an ever increasing rate. The persecution of Christian Believers around the world has taken a turn for the worse, and anti-Semitism grows steadily as Islam over-takes Europe like a dreaded disease. Evil waxes more evil with each passing day. And yet, instead of turning to God, the hearts of mankind are becoming colder and colder, seduced by the lusts of this world and its leader, Satan. Movements toward a one-world government, religion and monetary system are now being boldly mentioned... frequently, and without fear of repercussions, because people are ready for a leader who will bring peace and security to the world and a promise to end all of these maladies. The world is ripe for the ultimate Anti-Christ. Those who oppose him with be disposed of as a warning to others.

Only those, rooted and grounded in the Word of God, will be able to stand in these Last Days. Are you ready for what's coming?? Are you looking up? Only a sure foundation based on your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will keep you from falling away with the rest of the world and denying the very One who offers you eternal life. He sent His Holy Spirit to teach, guide and comfort us. We may not escape persecution, but God does promise we will escape His Wrath when He judges the world.
Today is the day of salvation... don't let it pass you by. Acts 16:31 ~ Romans 13:11-14

Promises, Promises...

Israel is a land forsaken and abandoned by all nations, save a few, such as France (for now) and Saudi Arabia, (of all kingdoms)! The American officials have broken promise after promise and turned their backs on her, but many Americans pray for the peace of Israel, daily. God will hear our prayers and answer them! Here's one of the passages in which He declares His promises, which He will keep!

From the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

Isaiah 62:1-5

62 For Tziyon’s sake I will not be silent,
for Yerushalayim’s sake I will not rest,
until her vindication shines out brightly
and her salvation like a blazing torch.
The nations will see your vindication
and all kings your glory.
Then you will be called by a new name
which Adonai himself will pronounce.
You will be a glorious crown in the hand of Adonai,
a royal diadem held by your God.
You will no longer be spoken of as ‘Azuvah [Abandoned]
or your land be spoken of as ‘Sh’mamah [Desolate];
rather, you will be called Heftzi-Vah [My-Delight-Is-In-Her]
and your land Be‘ulah [Married].
For Adonai delights in you,
and your land will be married —
as a young man marries a young woman,
your sons will marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
your God will rejoice over you.

Pray for the peace of Yerushalayim and for Israel!

The Facts...

Anti Semitism grows daily... just watch the news in whatever country/city you live
The threat of Iranian nuclear power grows daily... just watch the news in whatever country/city you live
The possibility of Israel being completely alone grows daily... just watch the news in whatever country/city you live
Israel is one of the first responders in another country's crisis... just watch the news in whatever country/city you live
Israel, as tiny a nation (7 million people), is a constant recipient of Nobel prizes, and a leader in the world of technology and innovative medical and environmental breakthroughs... just...

Wait!! You ARE getting all this in your news coverage, right?

Wrong!!

When was the last time you saw Israel painted in a positive way by your local and the national news media?
Makes you think, doesn't it?
God's prophecies about Israel being hated and abandoned by the world are coming true right before our eyes!
And the only thing we can do about it, is to prayerfully support this country, so loved by God that He covenanted with/married her as His "wife". His promises concerning Israel will not fail.

If you don't know what those promises are, do a search on your own, or read them here, when I post next time, Lord willing.

Israel... Alone?

Those who follow Israel in the news are seeing an intense increase in Anti-Semitism. Strange? Not so much... not according the Word of God. In Zechariah 12:3, God says one day ALL the nations will be gathered together against Israel. None will ally themselves with this tiny nation. This nation, no bigger than the size of New Jersey, gives so much of herself to the world through medical and technical innovations, but receives very little by way of praise and much by way of criticism. She is a leader in the recipients of the Nobel awards in Literature, Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Peace. Add in the music, arts and entertainment industries, and I think many people would be shocked at the percentage of Jewish actors, actresses, film makers and musicians. And yet, the hatred of the Jew, and the country of Israel in particular, grows daily. Why? In a word... God.

The underlying hatred of Jews centers around religion. And it all started before the fall of mankind from God's grace by their disobedience in the Garden of Eden. It started with the sin of willful pride in the heart of the Archangel, Lucifer... now known as Satan. His failed rebellion against God, and his subsequent temptation of Adam and Eve, marked the beginning of his hatred for the offspring of the woman. In Genesis 3:14,15, the birth of the Son of God, Yeshua HaMashiach~Jesus the Christ (Messiah), was prophesied to be his demise. Satan, who is not omniscient, has sought to destroy the Jewish nation from the murder of Able to Noah's flood, down through the conflict between Jacob and Esau; from the slavery of Joseph in Egypt until his reign as its ruler; 400 years later, the destruction of Hebrew baby boys by the pharaoh of Egypt resulted in the exodus to the Promised Land of Canaan (now Israel); from Haman's near annihilation of all Jews in Persia (who were saved by God through its Jewish Queen, Esther), to the Maccabees; from the crucifixion of Jesus, to the destruction of Jerusalem by Rome, and then the Holocaust in our time. Satan couldn't destroy the first coming of the promised Messiah, so he is now trying to prevent the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Since the beginning of the Church Age, after the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, both Jews and Christians alike have been persecuted, but today it is on a daily basis and getting worse! The irony is, many Christians lead in the hatred toward Jews because of misinformation from mainstream media outlets and the lack of Biblical teaching from the church pulpits. The reality is, in 1948, God restored Israel back to the land He had promised to her through Abraham, and she became a nation once more. His hand of protection is over them for a time, until they are deceived by The Anti-Christ during the End Time Tribulation. In the end, their eyes will be opened to see Yeshua as their Messiah, and Israel will once again be the center of the world's attention when He reigns from Jerusalem for a millennium. Revelation chapter 20.

While it appears Israel is alone, she has Adonai watching over her. He promises in Isaiah 49:15... "Can a woman forget her child at the breast, not show mercy on the child from her womb? Even if these were to forget, I would not forget you. I have engraved you on the palms of My hands, your walls are always before Me." CJB       If only America had such a promise...

Please pray for the peace of Israel and Jerusalem... and while you are at it, pray for America, too! For more information on Israel, visit: http://www.israeldocumented.blogspot.com

CHRISTIANITY IN THE CROSSHAIRS

I believe the day is coming, perhaps sooner rather than later, when Bible believing Christians will be the most hunted people on the face of the planet.  They will be found and brutally dealt with for their unshakeable belief concerning scriptural matters.  There is a relentless war raging against Biblical Christianity and all who believe.  You don't think so?  Then, consider this:

Today, Christians world-wide are being persecuted as never before in history.  In some countries entire communities populated by Christians are being destroyed.  Churches are being burned to the ground.  Christians are being forced to either denounce their faith, or face execution - many by beheading.

In our country, the USA, the Name of Jesus and all things Christian are being purged from public view because they are considered offensive.  The salvation message Jesus taught as the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life is ruled as hateful and exclusive.  Public prayers in Jesus’ Name and the mere presence of a Bible have been outlawed.   Biblical Christianity is being stripped from our schools, our military, our government, and from our society as a whole.

Immorality in the USA has reached an all-time high with over 55 million abortions performed since Roe vs. Wade, as well as a growing popularity of same sex marriage and homosexuality.  Not long ago we were expected to tolerate such things, then, acceptance became the mantra.  Today, there is a relentless effort demanding that we not only embrace those things, but now we must promote them.  Pedophilia and drug use are growing problems that are also rampant among our population.

Our laws, our growing permissive society, and our politically correct mentality have allowed godlessness and pagan belief systems to flood into our lives much like an unstoppable tsunami that destroys everything in its path.

Our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has now labeled all who support Biblical Christianity as terrorists, who are considered a dangerous threat to the common good of society.  The beliefs of Biblical Christians with their "Biblical worldview" are in blatant opposition to the direction our leaders have chosen for our country.

In preparation for what is to come, it has been reported that the DHS has acquired 1 1/2 billion rounds of ammunition - many of which are hollow point bullets used for effective killing at close range.  Is a widespread and bloody war against dissenters being planned?  What else would they do with all that firepower?  If you are a Bible believing Christian, then, you will be a target.

A world-wide "Christian cleansing" clearly has begun.  In our nation it will likely be carried out legally using force - including serious penalties for violations.  Expect one day to see door-to-door home inspections as authorities search for "illegal" possession of Bibles and other "offensive" religious terrorism tools used by conservative Christians.  Not a pretty picture at all.

Are you prepared for the day when government officials or law enforcement agencies suddenly show up at your front door at 3:00am demanding to know with a simple yes or no answer whether you are a fundamental Bible believing Christian?  Knowing that isolation or even death would likely be in store for you with a "yes" answer, then, how would you respond?

That would certainly be the ultimate "rubber-meets-the-road" question concerning the sincerity of your faith commitment, wouldn’t it?  Would you deny your faith to save your own skin, or the lives of your family members?  Or, would you be willing to die for Him Who died for you?

Matthew 10:33 NASB
But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

The Bible tells us that it will surely happen.  At the mid-point of the tribulation, the Antichrist will declare himself to be God - demanding that all bow down to him.  Those who refuse will likely be killed.  Are you ready for that?

In the midst of screams of fear and the smell of death, would your faith remain strong while being dragged to face a guillotine or firing squad?  I fear that many who claim the label of Christianity are not biblical Christians at all, but rather, are role playing behind a mask of Christianity.  They will be quick to deny Him.

More of God's end-time scenario is falling into place and becoming more obvious with each passing day.  Read your Bible and, then, scan the news reports.  It is happening now.  I believe the rapture is an imminent event, but what persecution will Bible believing Christians face before the Lord returns in the clouds to call them to Him?  We need to think about that.

As recorded in Luke 18:8, Jesus said, "...when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

I pray that I would be found faithful to the very end.  Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

The Middle East and Eternity

So much is going on in the Middle East, it's hard to keep up, let alone blog about it. And it changes daily now... time is speeding up and getting shorter simultaneously. Is your head spinning yet from all that is happening so rapidly? Mine is! My thoughts are continually on God~ He has this all under control, and we must... MUST... take it all by faith that what He has said in His Word WILL come to pass. In what little time is left to those of us who believe in and follow Yeshua HaMashiach, we need to be about our Father's business of proclaiming His Son as Lord and Savior to this lost and dying world!

If you don't know Him yet as such, I pray you will surrender to Him, turn from those things in your life which are not of God, and ask for forgiveness... then follow Him... you can find out how in His Written Word, the Bible. Praying for each and everyone of you who might read this!

Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and for America!

Blessings in the name of Jesus,

THE LIE OF THE LURE

Late one afternoon last week I decided to do some fishing from the end of my dock.  I simply enjoy fishing, but had not done that for over three years.  Most fish caught are tossed back into the lake so they might live to fight another day.

Within an hour I had caught and released several fish.  Among them were a walleye, three largemouth bass, and two chunky bluegills.  However, one of the bass suffered injuries so extensive it would not survive.

After reeling the bass near to the end the dock, in the clear water I spotted a huge northern pike cruising silently nearby like a submarine in attack mode.  The pike quickly closed in behind the bass as it struggled for freedom.  Just as I was about to lift my two-pound catch from the water, the pike suddenly and viciously lunged toward its intended victim.  With a death grip the attacker’s toothy jaws clamped around the helpless bass.  I'm sure that visions of a tasty dinner were dancing through that pike's pea-sized brain.

However, when the perpetrator felt resistance from my fishing line, it released its prey and quickly left the crime scene.  A brief examination of the bass revealed that the pike’s razor sharp teeth had ripped the flesh away from both sides of my fish.  The wounds were deep and fatal.

Minutes later the same northern pike attempted another attack on the next bass I had hooked.  The pike was relentless in its efforts to devour its prey.  This time its attack was unsuccessful, and the bass escaped unharmed.

Then, I began to think about those bass living in a world where their existence requires that they be constantly on high-alert-status for predators willing and able to destroy it at any time.  Just imagine if we lived in such a world!

But wait!  We do!

They are all around us.  Many of our predators use schemes that are subtle in nature, but others, like that pike, will act quickly to devastate our lives.  If we don’t remain vigilant, they will tear away our means of survival – and even steal our eternal soul.

The Bible teaches that very thing.  It warns that the devil is lurking nearby, and is always attempting to attack us in ways and at times we do not expect.  If we are not watchful and prepared, his efforts will surely succeed.

1 Peter 5:8 KJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

We are surrounded on all sides by the evil lies of this world - often disguised as something good.  The lures that tempt us are everywhere.  Do not be deceived, for the spiritual attacks we face each day are battles for our very soul.

I fear that many have been blindly led down the wide road that Satan's world offers to them.  They have been hooked by lures designed to lead them away from the Lord.  Many have been trapped in the devil’s net and do not realize it.  Does that describe you?  Do you even know?

We must hold on tight to that which is good, but it cannot be done alone.  It is only through the power of God's Word, prayer, and a personal relationship with Him that we are able to stand firm with the strength needed to guard our hearts and thoughts.

Ephesians 6:11-12 KJV
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

With God leading the way, the victory is ours - for we have His sure promise that the devil will flee from us.  Oh, lead me on, Precious Lord!

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD

Today, Bible believing Christians experience spiritual attacks as never before. Believers everywhere are targets for those attacks. The devil is relentless in his attempt to draw us away from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Using deceitful lies that are often subtle in nature, the evil one and his demonic hosts are trying very hard to lure unsuspecting folks away from Biblical Truth.

1 Peter 5:8 KJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Sadly, I fear that many have fallen away – after being blindly led down the wide road that Satan's world offers to them.

That wide road exists in many forms including: all paths lead to heaven; ecumenism; prosperity promises; the good life now; feel-good religion; immorality; a loving God will not cast anyone aside; no accountability or judgment; the Bible is not to be totally believed...and so much more. Every day, people are selling their souls to the devil as they fall victim to his easy believe-ism and other unbiblical schemes.

In addition, many support the dividing of Israel - having no belief in, nor respect for, the everlasting covenant given by Almighty God to the Jewish people. The very thought of pagans driving God's chosen people from their rightful possession brings me to tears.

We are surrounded on all sides by the evil of this world - often presented using clever words from seemingly God fearing men. Do not be deceived, for the spiritual attacks we face each day are battles for our very soul. We must hold on tight to that which is good, but we cannot do it alone. It is only through the power of God's Word...prayer...and a personal relationship with Him, that we can stand firm and be strengthened to guard our hearts and thoughts.

Carefully study and memorize the following Scriptures that describe the essential armor we all must possess to fight the battle. With God in our corner, the victory is ours...for we have His sure promise that the devil will flee from us. Hallelujah!

Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Peace? With One's Enemies?

What nation or country that you know of, is being pushed to broker a peace agreement with its enemies, being pushed to give its territories to a people who openly hate and despise them, so they can live side by side... with the world's approval? Is this not ludicrous? Who ever heard of giving into the demands of one's sworn enemy, who repeatedly kills and maims those of your citizenry and declares it wants all of your land, without you in it?

If they wanted peace and showed so by their actions that they were a responsible people who simply desired a good life as your neighbor, then yes, it would make sense. But if the leaders of these people loudly declare their contempt for you and encourage and even incite one another to make war and destroy you in whatever way they can find to do so, does it then stand to reason that you would make every concerted effort to take land from your citizens and give it to theirs?

If you do not believe the accuracy and validity of the Scriptures, this very scenario should make you reconsider, for it was thus declared to take place in the acharit hayamim~the latter days or End Times. Consider Ezekiel 36. What is happening today was declared by God to Ezekiel. Please note that God says He will not do what He's promising for Israel's sake because they deserve it, but rather for His Name's sake.

Ezekiel 36 ~ Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

“Now you, human being, prophesy to the mountains of Isra’el. Say: ‘Mountains of Isra’el, hear the message from Adonai. Adonai Elohim says: “The enemy is boasting over you, ‘Ha! Even the ancient high places are ours now!’ ” ’ Therefore prophesy, and say that Adonai Elohim says, ‘Because they desolated you and swallowed you up from every side, so that the other nations could take possession of you; and now people are gossiping about you and slandering you; therefore, mountains of Isra’el, hear the message of Adonai Elohim this is what Adonai Elohim says to the mountains and hills, the streams and valleys, the desolate wastes and the abandoned cities, now preyed on and derided by the other surrounding nations — therefore this is what Adonai Elohim says: “In the heat of my jealousy I speak against the other nations and all of Edom, since, rejoicing with all their heart, they have arrogated my land to themselves as a possession and, with utter contempt, seized it as prey.”’
“Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Isra’el, and say to the mountains, the hills, the streams and the valleys that Adonai Elohim says this: ‘I speak in my jealousy and fury, because you have endured being shamed by the nations. Therefore thus says Adonai Elohim: “I have raised my hand and sworn that the nations surrounding you will bear their shame. But you, mountains of Isra’el, you will sprout your branches and bear your fruit for my people Isra’el, who will soon return. I am here for you, and I will turn toward you; then you will be tilled and sown; 10 and I will multiply your population, all the house of Isra’el, all of it. The cities will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. 11 I will multiply both the human and animal populations, they will increase and be productive; and I will cause you to be inhabited as you were before — indeed, I will do you more good than before; and you will know that I am Adonai. 12 I will cause people to walk on you, my people Isra’el; they will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; never again will you make them childless.” 13 Adonai Elohim says, “Because they say to you, ‘Land, you devour people and make your nations childless,’ 14 therefore you will no longer devour people, and you will not make your nations childless any more,” says Adonai Elohim. 15 “I will not permit the nations to shame you, or the peoples to reproach you any longer; and you will no more cause your nations to stumble,” says Adonai Elohim.’”  Verse 22 “Therefore tell the house of Isra’el that Adonai Elohim says this: ‘I am not going to do this for your sake, house of Isra’el, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have been profaning among the nations where you went.

Zechariah 12 ~ Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

A prophecy, the word of Adonai concerning Isra’el — here is the message from Adonai, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundation of the earth and formed the spirit inside human beings:
“I will make Yerushalayim a cup
that will stagger the surrounding peoples.
Even Y’hudah will be caught up
in the siege against Yerushalayim.
When that day comes, I will make Yerushalayim
a heavy stone for all the peoples.
All who try to lift it will hurt themselves,
and all the earth’s nations will be massed against her.

Please note that God, Himself is stirring up the nations against Israel... to the extent that HIS Glory will be revealed, both to Israel, and through Israel as He defends her.

Psalm 83 ~ Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

(0) A song. A psalm of Asaf:
2 (1) God, don’t remain silent!
Don’t stay quiet, God, or still;
3 (2) because here are your enemies, causing an uproar;
those who hate you are raising their heads,
4 (3) craftily conspiring against your people,
consulting together against those you treasure.
5 (4) They say, “Come, let’s wipe them out as a nation;
let the name of Isra’el be remembered no more!”
6 (5) With one mind they plot their schemes;
the covenant they have made is against you —
7 (6) the tents of Edom and the Yishma‘elim,
Mo’av and the Hagrim,
8 (7) G’val, ‘Amon and ‘Amalek,
P’leshet with those living in Tzor; (Selah)
9 (8) Ashur too is allied with them,
to reinforce the descendants of Lot.
(Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria (allied with Russia), Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Gaza, including the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians)

Please note that all of those nations mentioned in Psalm 83 are now, for the first time ever, positioned around Israel with the intent of destroying this tiny nation beloved by God. If ever there was a time to get your heart right before God Almighty, today is the day!
Next time, I will show what the Scriptures say about Peace with Israel in the acharit hayamim as it concerns giving land for "peace"...

FROM WRETCHED TO WORTHY

There are at least two beloved hymns that contain the word “wretch” within their verses.  The context of that word in those hymns denotes the spiritual condition of unbelievers before Jesus enters into their heart and life.

Amazing Grace
“Amazing grace!  How sweet the sound – that saved a wretch like me!”

Victory In Jesus
“How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me.”

Wretch is an ugly word - describing a person who is miserable, despicable, vile, or outcast.  Perhaps many would say, “Whoa!  I was bad, but never like that!”  But wait - the Bible tells it much differently.

God loves us, He created us, and His desire is for us to walk with Him, to serve Him, and to worship Him.  However, the Bible is clear that all mankind is dead in sin, therefore, it is impossible to have a personal relationship with Him and please Him without a spiritually cleansed renewal of the heart.  Our God is a holy and righteous God Who cannot look upon sin, and as unrepentant sinners, we are wretched to Him and not fit for His kingdom.

Although all are alienated from God, it’s through Christ’s shed blood on His cross and His death that we can be reconciled to be presented holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight (Col. 1:21, 22).  We become worthy in the eyes of God only through the redeeming blood of the cross.  Our worthiness is not a result of anything we do to gain God’s approval.

However, many are deceiving both themselves and others by acting out Christianity - doing those things Christians are supposed to do.  Most are kind and love one another, they regularly attend church, they sing in the choir, and they even attend Bible studies.  They have religion in their life, but don’t have Jesus in their heart.  Their names are recorded in a church membership book, but not in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  They have never experienced a born again, spiritual re-birth of the heart.  That describes many in our churches today.  They are wretched in the eyes of God, but don’t know it.

The Apostle John recorded the messages of our Lord Jesus to seven churches of Asia.  His letter to the church of Laodicea also describes many of our churches today as well as individuals within the churches.  They are repulsive to the Lord and damaging to His purpose.  In short, they make Him sick.

The church, so wrapped up with their works and material things, does not recognize its true condition.  John wrote in Rev. 3:17 that they claim to be wealthy and in need of nothing, but don’t understand they are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.  Because of their pitiful and lukewarm condition, Jesus said in Rev. 3:16 that He will vomit them out of His mouth.  Rev. 3:20 reveals that Christ is being kept outside of His church, but He stands there calling and knocking at the door to be heard - longing to be invited in to fellowship with them.  It’s sad, but the Jesus they claim to love and worship is not the Jesus of the Bible.  The real Jesus is not at the forefront of their lives.

The sin of pride and self-sufficiency has blinded some people and prevented them from humbly submitting themselves to the God of all creation - the One Who is in control of all things.  Romans 12:3 warns that we must not think of ourselves more highly than we ought.  James, the brother of the Lord and a man of noted authority, wrote in James 4:10 (NKJV), “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”  The Apostle John wrote in 1 John 2:16 that the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Perhaps many who have never thought of themselves as wretched have never been truly convicted of their lost and sinful condition.  They have never been humbly on their knees in repentance - crying out with a remorseful, broken heart to Almighty God.  They may have never prayed something like this:

“Oh God, help me!  I’m a lost sinner and need the Savior in my life!  I’m so sorry for what I’ve done, for my unbelief, and for not trusting in You!  I repent of my sins, Lord - forgive me!  I believe Jesus suffered and died on that cross for me, in my place.  Lord Jesus, come into my heart now, this very moment, and help me to live a life that is pleasing and honoring to You.  Thank You in Jesus’ Name.  Amen!”

The Bible tells us in Luke 15:10 that when one sinner repents, there is joy in the presence of the angels.  Just imagine – there is a massive victory celebration in heaven the moment each one of us places our faith and trust in Him!

Also, as born again believers, we instantly become royalty.  We become sons and daughters of the most-high sovereign God Who rules today and will rule and reign forever.  As a child of the King, we become worthy heirs to the kingdom of heaven.  Revelation 3:4 promises that the faithful in Christ will walk with Him in purity and righteousness, for they are worthy.

We can have absolute assurance of our salvation through the promises God provides for us in His Word.  God’s Word is infallible, and we must trust His promises through faith alone in Him.

John 3:16 (NASB) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Romans 10:9, 10 (NASB) “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person
believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

1 John 4:15 (NASB) “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in
God.”

Isaiah 43:1b (NASB) “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name;
you are Mine!”

RANDOM THOUGHTS OF MY BRIDE

Unknown to most of you, my dear wife for almost fifty years was called Home by her Savior and Lord on Friday, March 1, 2013 after enduring serious illness for the past five years.   Carol was ready to meet Him, and waited expectantly to hear Him call her name.  There she will suffer no more pain.  Heart disease, diabetes, and all the other related ailments will be things of the past and remembered no more.  There will be no more hospitals, walkers, or wheel chairs, either.  The sick will be healed, the lame will leap for joy, the blind will see, and the trials of this world will be gone forever.  Today, she is safe and well in the arms of Jesus.

I penned the following random thoughts during the early morning hours of the days following her Home-going.  In a way, it was the beginning of healing for me – a healing that will likely take a long time.  My real healing, however, comes from the Lord.  Oh, where would I be without Him in my life.

I am sharing my thoughts in the event that you or someone you know might have recently experienced the pain and heartache of losing a loved one.  Perhaps by reading them, it will bring a glimmer of hope and assurance into your life, and the knowledge that you are not alone.  May God bless you!

RANDOM THOUGHTS OF MY BRIDE

When we lose someone we love dearly, it can feel as if our heart and soul has been ripped apart and shredded, then, blown away like confetti in a wind storm.  For me, that is especially true when the loved one was my wife and best friend who stood beside me for almost 50 years through good times and bad, through thick and thin, through sickness and health, and through times of sadness and joy.

But wait!  Carol is not lost!  Oh, although I cannot touch her, I cannot see her smiling face, and I cannot hear her voice, I know exactly where she is.  She is safe in the arms of Jesus!

There she will suffer no more pain.  Heart disease, diabetes, and all the other related ailments will be things of the past and remembered no more.  There will be no more hospitals, walkers, and wheel chairs, either.  The sick will be healed, the lame will leap for joy, the blind will see, and the trials of this world will be gone forever.

It was Carol’s appointed time to leave us for a little while.  God had called her name.  As a born-again believer she went on down the path ahead of us to meet her Savior and Lord.  She was not only ready, but was anxious to meet Him.  That is a journey we all must take one day.  Are you ready to do that?  Do you know Him?  You must be very sure.  I know that I am ready - and soon I will see her again!

Through all of Carol's life trials our prayer has always been, "We trust in You, O Lord - for our times are in Your hand." (Psalm 31:14)

~ ~ ~

We are told in Scripture that we must run the race that is set before us.  However, we know our journey will not always be smooth.  The road we travel will have bumps, twists and turns along the way.  When we keep the faith and look to the Lord for His leading to carry us over the rough spots, we will meet at the finish line - with victory in Jesus.

~ ~ ~

Our awesome God is in control! It is only with His permission that we are allowed to take our next breath.  We must realize that we are all just a lump of clay in the Master Potter's hands that He will shape and mold into His perfect plan for our lives.

~ ~ ~

One day we will walk hand in hand with Jesus - our Savior, Lord and Master.  We will talk and laugh with Him as we stroll together down the streets of pure gold.  Our special mansion will be ready and waiting for us too.  A massive celebration of continuous praise and worship will be there for us to join in with them.  What a day that will be!

Until then, all of us must be thankful for each new morning, and thank God for allowing us to be a part of it so we can live our days for His honor and glory. Each day we must count our many blessings He so richly pours out on each one of us. Tomorrow is not certain, but eternity is – and we must know where we will spend it!

I have much faith in the Lord and was always trying to provide encouragement to Carol, but in my quiet times, in a quiet place, when I was alone with my thoughts, I felt so sad for her and my tears would flow.  When I was on my knees in submission to Him, seeking His face in prayer, and looking to Him for peace, comfort and strength, He always told me to wait on Him for He will never leave us.  He told me we are safe in the palm of His hand, He cares for us, and to only trust Him for He is in control and that His Will be done.

~ ~ ~

Heaven is a very real place.  It’s a place to look forward to, a place to contemplate and to prepare for.  It’s a place where we will be more alive than we are today.  The Master Creator is there, building a special place in heaven just for us.

In John 14:1-4,6 (NKJV), Jesus gave this promise to us: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  And where I go you know, and the way you know.  I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

One day soon our mansion will be completed and Jesus will call my name and yours.  Are you prepared to meet Him on that day?

One of the latter verses of the gospel hymn, “Amazing Grace”, was penned as follows:

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun.
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise,
Than when we’d first begun.

Ten thousand years - just imagine!  But, when compared to eternity, ten thousand years are not even a blink of an eye.  Eternity will have just begun.  It’s simply impossible for me to wrap my human brain around that concept.

And then, to boggle the mind even further, the next ten million years will be as a single drop of water in an ocean that extends forever with no boundaries, nor measurable depth.

Throughout those endless years there will be no more death or sorrow, no more sickness, no more tears or pain, and no one will ever grow weary.  Also, there will be no hospitals, or walkers, or canes, or wheelchairs.  There will be no more Alzheimer’s, or dementia, or strokes, or heart disease, or cancer.

Most important of all, however, is that Jesus will be there, and believers will at long last be Home with Him.

~ ~ ~

Almost 50 years ago Carol and I made a promise to each other in the presence of a church full of witnesses and Almighty God that we would love, cherish, honor, protect, and care for one another as long we had life and breath.  Oh, there were bumps along the way with twists and turns in our path, but with God leading us every step of the way, we did just that with everything that was within us.  Now that 50 years have almost past by, the memories linger on and will never be erased from my mind.  Would I do it all over again?  Yes – in a heartbeat!

~ ~ ~

I believe that today Carol is strolling hand in hand with Jesus along the streets of pure gold.  I believe they are chatting, singing and laughing as they stop beside the flowing River of Life with its water sparkling like liquid diamonds.  She is with her Savior and Lord forever.  One day soon I will join them there.  I can’t wait!

~ ~ ~

In the final weeks before Carol was called Home to be with the Lord, we both sensed that the end was near.  We would spend as much time together as possible, sitting hand in hand at her bedside with tears flowing, often at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning, just praying, sharing our inner feelings, re-living our memories, and comforting one another.  It was during those times that I could picture in my mind’s eye God-sent angels positioned on each side of her bed with wings wide-spread and touching wingtip to wingtip forming a shield of protection over us.  Carol and I had an unbreakable bond between us, but our bond with our Lord and Savior was even greater.  He promised to be with us until the end - and He was.

~ ~ ~

Carol was my beloved bride and best friend for almost fifty years.  She stood close by me through good times and bad, through sickness and health, and through times of sadness and joy.  Now she has gone away.  But, I know exactly where she is.  She is safe in the arms of Jesus!

Carol went on down the path ahead of us to be with her Savior and Lord.  Until we meet again, the roses will never fade and the memories will linger on in my heart.

~ ~ ~

I shared the following at Carol’s memorial service:

On behalf of my family and myself, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for being here, for your prayers, for your support, and for your kind words.  We appreciate all of you.

Not long ago Carol told me she wished she could be a little mouse in a corner during her memorial service.  She wanted to hear the Pastor's message, enjoy the music, and greet everyone who is here.  Well, there probably aren’t any mice in this Chapel, but I know she is here in our hearts and thoughts today.  Carol would be very pleased.

If it were possible, I believe that Carol would be shouting a final plea from within heaven’s gates to all in this Chapel who would hear her. She would warn that this is real stuff, it is serious stuff, and that one day everyone must stand before God to give account.  It won’t be about who we are, or what we’ve done, or whether we’ve been a good person.  It will be all about Jesus and what we have done with Him.  And, it’s not whether we simply know about Him, it’s whether we truly know Him.  There is a huge difference between the two.

If you are not absolutely sure you are a repentant, blood-bought, heaven-bound child of God, then, you must to do some serious business with Him today.  You must receive His free gift of salvation by faith alone before it is too late.

And, as Carol knows very well - there is no promise of a tomorrow for anyone.

~ ~ ~

I am not in any big rush to sort through Carol's things since I will need some time to get myself together first. Then, they will eventually be distributed according to her wishes.

I had been Carol's life support every hour of every day for a long time. It seems that I should still be doing something for her, but now the house is quiet. There is a big empty hole that will be there for some time. Even my dog Betsy seems lost, but now she needs me too.  Carol was Betsy’s best friend.

~ ~ ~

My family and friends have now returned to their homes.  Except for me and my dog Betsy, who continues to search each room for Carol, the house is empty.  It is just the two of us trying to grasp onto something that resembles a normal life.  But all has changed, and will never return to the life as we had known it for so many years.    All we have left are the memories that fill our heart.

~ ~ ~

As Carol’s caregiver, I was her constant life support for the past few years.  I was tuned into her every need 24 hours a day, and always listened for her voice calling out to me.  Even now in the quiet hours of the night and day, I sometimes imagine hearing her crying out for my help.  I rush to the bedside where she once lay, but only to realize once again that she is not with us.  Then, the tears flow because I miss her so much.  Jesus is taking good care of her now, and one of these days I will join her – never to be separated again.

~ ~ ~

A house that was once filled with joy and laughter, family and friends, pain and tears, conversation and intimate sharing, can do strange things to the mind after those things are gone.  Now, I am finding out that an empty house can be quite noisy with sounds I don’t remember hearing before.  Sometimes the floors creak, ice trapped on the roof will make crackling noises as it thaws, I hear the furnace fire-up many times each day, and I even hear Betsy’s nails softly clicking on the tile floors as she wanders aimlessly from room to room.

I talk randomly and frequently aloud expecting a response, but the only acknowledgement I hear is the echo of my words as they bounce off the walls.  Betsy doesn’t even listen to me unless the word “treat” is spoken.  However, the Lord is listening and will sweep away the loneliness.  I hope He will never get tired of hearing my voice.

~ ~ ~

I attended the Sunday morning worship service at church two days after Carol's memorial. It was the first time I have been able to be away from home long enough to attend church since early December. Oh, how I have missed doing that!  It was good - so very good!  The music selections and the message filled my parched soul with renewed assurance that I am His and He is mine in spite of the trials and heartaches we must face in this life. We are never alone with the Lord by our side.  Oh Lord, may the healing begin with You!

Purim~A season of Joy

Chag Sameach Purim... If you read the story of Esther, you'll understand why this is such a joyous holiday for Israelis, especially in light a new Haman in Persia/Iran, calling for their annihilation! One more reason why we need to pray for the peace of Israel every day, and to keep her leaders in prayer as well. Israel needs a stable, cohesive, united government to insure her safety. She also needs to see her reliance on the God, who promises to rise up on her behalf!!

Egypt's Defense Minister: Egypt could Collapse Gen. al-Sisi says military has been deployed in cities near the Suez Canal to protect the canal from riots.  Egyptian Defense Minister Gen. Abdel Fatah al-Sisi warned Tuesday that Egypt could be facing collapse. Al-Sisi explained that military units have been stationed in cities next to the Suez Canal, where riots have broken out, in order to protect the canal. "The continuing conflict between political forces and their differences concerning the management of the country could lead to a collapse of the state and threaten future generations," Al-Sisi said in a speech to army cadets that was also quoted on the Egyptian military spokesman's Facebook page. Sisi said the country's economic, political and social challenges signify "a real threat to the security of Egypt and the cohesiveness of the Egyptian state". Some see Sisi's statement as an attempt to remind Egyptians about the power of the military and as a veiled threat to opposition forces. At least 52 people have been killed in riots that broke out a few days ago, at the two year anniversary of the uprising that toppled President Hosni Mubarak. Many of the casualties were in the city of Suez, where the military was sent to quell the riots. The situation worsened when a court sentenced to death 21 soccer fans who were found guilty of causing the riot in a stadium in Port Said last year, in which 74 people were killed. Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi announced Sunday that he was placing three cities under curfew because of rioting – Port Said, Suez and Ismailiya. The curfew will be in force from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM for the next 30 days, as part of a state of emergency declared in these cities.
