Obama tells King Abdullah he supports the ME Arab peace plan

Obama, Saudi King discuss 2-state Mideast solution

US president tells reporters White House meeting centered on 'importance of moving forward to secure Palestinian homeland alongside prosperous Israel. Abdullah: Americans friends of Arab, Muslim people
Yitzhak Benhorin, Reuters

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama and Saudi King Abdullah discussed the Middle East peace process and the importance of securing a Palestinian homeland alongside a strong Israeli state, Obama said on Tuesday.

Obama said their meeting at the White House ranged over a number of strategic issues, including Iran's nuclear program, Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as "the importance of moving forward in a swift and bold way in securing a Palestinian homeland that can live side by side with a secure and prosperous Israeli state."

The US president added, "As representatives of two G-20 countries, we also continued the conversation that took place this weekend about how the Saudi -- how the Saudi government and the United States government can work with our other partners around the world to keep the economic recovery going and to help bring about the strong economic growth that's necessary to put people back to work,".

King Abdullah only spoke briefly after their meeting, thanking Obama for his hospitality and praising the friendship between their two countries.

"I would like to say to the friendly American people that the American people are friends of Saudi Arabia and its people, and they are friends of the Arab and Muslim people, and they are also friends of humanity," he said.

The White House said after the meeting and lunch that King Abdullah assured Obama of his support for the Arab Middle East peace initiative.

The leaders also discussed building a Saudi army that would be capable of facing the Iranian threat. The possible purchase of 72 F-16 jets by the Saudi was also discussed.

It should be no surprise that Obama supports the plan. However, our Lord God has another plan and He will provide for Israel, just as He has so many times in the past.

Hamas Stopping Tranfer of Flotilla Aid

How interesting...photos of abundantly stocked markets and stores rather tarnishes the image of the Gazan people being in critical need of International aid. This is just further proof that lies abound with these people in the hopes of turning the world against Israel. More aid would just flood the market there and put tunnel operators out of business... Guess who really runs the tunnel operations?!!! Mid
by Gil Ronen

The Hamas government in Gaza is apparently not interested in receiving the goods that were carried by the 'humanitarian' Turkey-sponsored flotilla Israel intercepted.
The IDF Spokesman said Wednesday that "As of right now, the State of Israel has loaded 20 trucks with various types of aid found onboard the flotilla. Expired medication, clothing, blankets, some medical equipment and toys were among the aid found on the ships."
"Unfortunately, the Hamas terror organization is unwilling to accept the cargo and the trucks filled with humanitarian aid have not been allowed to enter the Gaza Strip. It appears that Hamas is in fact stopping the transfer of the humanitarian aid.
Security sources said that supplies from the flotilla continue to be taken off the seven ships that participated in it, and that truckloads of medical supplies, toys and clothing have already reached the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and Gaza. However, Hamas and Gaza based aid agencies are not responding, so far, to Israeli calls to come and get the goods.
If Hamas refuses to take the supplies, Israel's spokesmen will be able to point to this as further proof that the naval convoy was meant for propaganda and provocation purposes only, and was not truly carrying vital aid at all. Minister of Information Yuli Edelstein pointed out on a Fox News interview Wednesday that the total tonnage carried by the flotilla (about ten tons) is much less than the amount of aid Israel transfers into Gaza every week (about eighteen tons).
Ever since it took over Gaza in 2007, the Hamas government has been notorious for its shameless manipulation and lying, in a ceaseless effort to portray Gaza as a humanitarian disaster zone and to blame Israel – which is viewed as an 'advanced' economy – for this situation.
One of the more notorious Hamas bluffs was the holding of government sessions by candlelight when Israel was being blamed for electricity shortages in Gaza. The local media representatives, who are terrorized by Hamas or sympathize with it, cooperated with the bluff, but sharp-eyed bloggers noticed that there was sunlight coming in through the curtains that covered the windows when the 'candlelight' picture was taken.  (IsraelNationalNews.com)

Countering Anti-Israel Rallys in America

Anti-Israel forces in the United States have been busy organizing protests, boycotts, and public events. In fact, in recent months, dozens of cities have held “anti-Israel apartheid weeks,” dedicated to encouraging Americans to embrace anti-Israel views.

Is there an antidote? There may very well be, says Dr. Scott Baum of the Memphis Friends of Israel group. According to Baum, the major pro-Israel festival the group sponsors each year, along with smaller educational events throughout the year, is an example of an excellent way for supporters of Israel to respond to the bile of the anti-Israel crowd - “especially since we have the facts on our side,” Baum said in an interview with Israel National News.

A long-time activist on behalf of Israel, Baum sensed a few years ago that Israel's message just wasn't getting the media attention it deserved – while anti-Israel events and views were being promoted apace in the local media. “At the time, we opened a chapter of Honest Reporting, and we would hammer the local and national media for their incorrect and biased points of view, but we just weren't getting the coverage we needed.” It was then that Baum and several other Memphis area activists decided to go with a less “hard” approach – and Memphis Friends of Israel (FOI) was born.
The organization's main activity is an annual 'down home' style festival – with a pro-Israel twist. The festival features games, music, food, races – and an Israel information booth.

The organization's main activity is an annual “down home” style festival – with a pro-Israel twist, says Baum. “We sponsor our event in a public forum, not behind a synagogue, and we invite everyone, Christians and Jews” - with members of both faiths actively participating in the organization and execution of Memphis FOI activities. The festival features games, music, food, races – and an Israel information booth. “The people come and have a good time – they dance to Israeli music, eat some falafel, and listen to speakers who tell Israel's side of the story,” Baum says.

This year's festival was the third sponsored by Memphis FOI, says Baum – and each year, the event attracts more visitors. “When we first started the group, we figured we would preach to the choir, helping pro-Israel advocates to better defend Israel,” he says. But with the response to the group's events so positive, Memphis FOI now reaches out to the general community, Baum says – trying to reach fair-minded people who are looking for the facts.

And disseminating the facts is the best way to battle the anti-Israel crowd. “There's no question that the anti-Israel forces are gaining strength these days. They have grassroots support but no facts on their side - and that's how we battle them,” says Baum. Speakers at the festival this year included a soldier who was expelled from his home in Gush Katif, an Ethiopian immigrant to Israel, and a speaker who talked about the facts of life in the Middle East.

Could what works in Memphis work in other cities as well? Baum thinks so, and in fact, Memphis FOI is ready, willing and able to provide assistance to any group that wants to sponsor pro-Israel events. “We have plenty of materials on our website, and plenty of flags and other items we can lend out” - and in fact, says Baum, the organization will be doing exactly that in Nashville later this year. “Our festival is a great way to educate people,” says Baum. “Most people want to be educated, and for most people, the facts will win out.”

For more information, contact Dr. Baum via the Memphis Friends of Israel website.

Coincidence?? or The Judgment of God?

Once Again, YouTube is interfering with free speech. It allows Muslims to promote Islam and anti-Israel hate propaganda, but clamps down on Christian posts, especially if they mention our leader and the government! This was taken from another site, which embedded the video... This is the world in which we live today...

The Blockade Dilemma-Could it Spark another War?

*The Gaza Strip must not be allowed to turn into an Iranian port, IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi said Tuesday.

Speaking at the hesder yeshiva in the northern town of Kiryat Shmona, the army chief said that Israel has a "natural right to carry inspections and prevent the flow of weapons to Gaza."

"If anyone is bothered by the situation in the Strip and wishes to transfer medical equipment to Gaza, he should go ahead and arrive at the Ashdod Port," Ashkenazi said. "We'll inspect him, and if needed we'll let him in."

"We must insist on this right; Gaza must not turn into an Iranian port," he said. "This is not just a matter of threatening the Gaza region. Missiles that can hit other areas may end up there too."  Both of these articles are from the Ynet news

*Lebanon said on Tuesday it would hold Israel responsible for any attack, in response to Israeli warnings that it would use "all necessary force" to stop aid boats planning to sail to blockaded Gaza.

"Israel will be held fully responsible for any attack on Lebanon," the foreign ministry said in a letter to the United Nations.

Lebanon "cannot prohibit a ship from leaving its ports if its cargo, passengers and destination all comply with Lebanese law," it said in the letter.

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations warned the world body last week that the Jewish state was entitled to use "all necessary force" to stop the Lebanese activists' boats.

On Monday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak also reiterated a warning that Lebanon would be responsible for any "violent and dangerous confrontation" with vessels sailing to Gaza from its shores.

In defiance of the Israeli warnings, Lebanese civilian groups are still planning to transport aid, including medical supplies, by sea to the Israeli-blockaded Palestinian territory via Cyprus.

What Is It About Israel??

To me, Israel is the object of my desire...I would give anything to live in the land that has captured my heart, but to the unbelieving world, Israel is a hindrance to global peace. It is a tiny country filled with Jews who refuse to give up their land in order to appease Arabs who mistakenly believe it is the cause of political unrest and upheaval in the Middle East.
To the Jews it is their eternal home, promised and given to them by God, the Creator and Sustainer of all life.
To Christians, Israel is is the End Times alarm clock. What happens there as the result of fulfilled prophesy found in the Bible, determines the fate of mankind. It is the promise of a millennial reign with Yeshua.
To God, Israel is His wife--His beloved, whom He longs to restore to true fellowship. To His only Son, Jesus Christ,  Israel will soon become the seat of His powerful thousand-year-reign over all the earth.
It's no wonder then, that to the Arabs, it is an obstacle to their goal of ridding the world of their worst enemy. They don't want peace, they want to annihilate Jews, which is interesting, for it is the very same goal of the fallen angel, Lucifer-aka Satan. And that should make one wonder why.
Israel...beloved, despised, used, fought over, destroyed and rebuilt many times, and now, after thousands of years, it is a place where Jews can live, build homes, raise families and prosper and flourish...if Arabs and the rest of the world would just back off and give them a chance.
Ahhh, but that's all in God's "Plan"...isn't it? Stay tuned...

U.S.SHOULD NOT DEPORT "SON OF HAMAS"

Mosab Hasan Yousef will speak to the 2010 Epicenter Conference next week via video. But we need to pray for him now.
By Joel C. Rosenberg
(Washington, D.C., June 15, 2010) -- Mosab Hasan Yousef, author of the New York Times best-selling non-fiction book, Son of Hamas, will be speaking by videotape at the 2010 Epicenter Conference next week. But I can't wait until then to tell you the latest that is happening with him. He needs our prayers.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security may soon deport Mosab back to the West Bank where he very well could be assassinated. He is scheduled for a DHS hearing on June 30th that could decide his fate. U.S. officials believe his previous leadership role in Hamas is too great a risk to give him political asylum here in the States. But they are not properly assessing the totality of his story and the situation.
Here are the facts. Yes, Mosab is the son of one of the founders of Hamas and was a rising leader in the terrorist organization - he described his role in detail in his book. That said, Mosab renounced Hamas and risked his life to become a double agent working for the Israeli secret service (Shin Bet) against Hamas. In so doing, Mosab helped to stop scores of terrorist attacks and helping Israel arrest scores of jihadists. Then, Mosab renounced Islam and became a follower of Jesus Christ. His story was first revealed through the Haaretz, one of Israel's leading and most credible newspapers. The Haaretz team carefully vetted his story and have done numerous follow up stories. The Israeli government has not denounced him as a liar - to the contrary, Mosab's Shin Bet handlers affirm his story and say that he is telling the truth. Mosab has lived in the U.S. for the two years and is actively speaking out here and around the world through the media and in speeches against Hamas, against Radical Islam, and in favor of the U.S., Israel and most importantly his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ
The U.S. has given political asylum to people who have done far less for the U.S. and the cause of freedom than Mosab - he deserves and should receive the right to stay in this country and become an American citizen
I have gotten to know Mosab over the last 18 months and am convinced he is the real deal. I am, therefore, asking you to pray faithfully and consistently for him.
* Pray for Mosab to have Christ's peace and joy during such turmoil and stress
* Pray for Judge Rico J. Bartolomei on June 30th to truly hear and understand all the facts and come to the proper conclusion that Mosab has truly renounced Islam and Hamas, that he is not a threat to U.S. national security in any way, shape, or form, that he should stay in the U.S., and that he would be in grave danger if he were sent back to the West Bank
* Pray for Members of Congress to take up Mosab's case and intervene on his behalf with the Department of Homeland Security (my colleagues and I are currently working on this, as are other friends and allies of Mosab)
* Pray that the Epicenter Conference will give his case more exposure so more people can pray - we will be showing video excerpts of my recent interview with him and this will be broadcast on more than 1,000 Christian radio stations, 5 Christian TV networks, in all 50 states and in more than 200 countries around the world
* Pray, too, that the media will raise the profile of Mosab's case so still more people can learn about it and begin to pray

Middle Ages Haunting MiddleEast

If anyone has doubts that the world is against Israel (Zechariah 12:1-9) you need only read the headlines of the world's newspapers today. That said, their stubborn refusal to accept Christianity is bringing Churches to the same conclusion as the world...It's going to be a time of testing for all!! Mid

"The dark days of the Middle Ages 'are raging' against Israel," Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told Likud party Knesset Members Monday. Speaking at a party caucus meeting, the Prime Minister words were a warning of further anti-Zionist slands in wake of the flotilla attack.
The flood of hate is being led by Israel's enemies all over the world," Netanyahu added. "They are trying to…revoke Israel's right to defend itself as well as the rights of IDF soldiers to protect their own lives. The government decision will make it clear to the world that Israel is acting legally, responsibly, and with complete transparency.”
...
Israeli Cabinet ministers admitted Monday afternoon that the government had no choice but to set up an inquiry committee, but the Prime Minister warned Israel to “prepare for difficult days” in which even Israel’s allies may express non-supportive statements that could ”surprise”  Israel.
“There is a certain price we are paying, but under the present circumstances it is our best move," Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the Likud meeting.

Gazan Tunnels v/s Blockade-No Crisis in Gaza

*

Wanting to see Gaza's humanitarian situation first-hand, John Lyons of The Australian makes a startling discovery:
The tunnel operators have a vested interest in maintaining the blockade; they stand to lose tens of millions of dollars should it end. A European official who knows Gaza as well as anyone tells me what he says is one of the great unwritten stories about Gaza: that it is the tunnel operators firing the rockets . . . .

There's a strong logic to the argument of the European that the tunnel operators, many of whom have their licences only because they have paid Hamas, would be the biggest losers should the embargo be lifted.
And a pattern of behaviour certainly fits with the theory; almost every time Israel begins talking about a period of calm with Gaza or every time Israel comes under pressure to lift the blockade, rockets are fired.
Meanwhile, the LA Times also checks out Gaza. And guess what? Aid workers on the ground are hedging on the nature of Gaza's "crisis."
Although it's true that there is no hunger and there are no epidemics, the situation in Gaza defies usual categorization, aid officials say.
"Look, it's not like sub-Saharan Africa," said Chris Gunness, spokesman for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which assists Palestinian refugees. "We are not talking about a natural disaster or famine caused by failed rains. But Gaza is a political crisis with grave human consequences." . . . .
"It's not the kind of disaster that you might see in other places," said Mahmud Daher, head of WHO's Gaza office. "But it's always on the edge of a crisis. And without the help of the international community, it would be a crisis." . . .
The stores are stocked with food, electronics, furniture and clothin, much of it smuggled from Egypt through illegal tunnels. Cafes offer espresso and croissants. A shipment of 2010 Hyundai sedans recently arrived. Now that school is out for the summer, families are flocking to the beach to eat ice cream and barbecue.
Gaza's situation is difficult, and I certainly wouldn't want to live there. But with Big Media repeatedly using the words Gaza crisis, it's time to question whether "crisis" is being abused for the sake of sensationalized headlines.
Recently, Israel's Government Press Office recommended Roots, a posh Gaza restaurant, for reporters heading to Gaza. Although the GPO apologized, Lyons and Sanders smelled a real story and followed up.
Tunnel operators firing rockets is a real scoop. I wonder what else the MSM might find out about Gaza with a little digging.

Iranian Ships to Defy Israeli Blockade...

Events concerning Israel are heating up and escalating to a breaking point, and Iran is doing the pushing. People in the "know" are saying there will be war this summer, but God already said this would happen...is anyone "listening"?
Two Iranian ships intended to head for Hamas-controlled Gaza are waiting for their government's approval to challenge Israel on the high seas, escorted by “volunteer marines” that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to send “to teach Israelis a lesson.”
An Iranian Red Crescent official said the two ships are waiting for the Iranian foreign ministry to give the green light for launching, according to the French news service AFP, quoting the Iranian Mehr news service. The Red Crescent said a third ship probably would join the fleet.
Red Crescent official Mojtaba Majd also claimed that more than 100,000 Iranians have signed up to board the ships, but only those with ”expertise” would be accepted. Majd did not define the area of expertise required.
Ali Shirazi, the Revolutionary Guard’s spokesman for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said it was “Iran’s duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza.”
A Red Crescent ship to Gaza was stopped by the Israeli Navy a year and a half ago, but the charged anti-Israeli atmosphere following the latest flotilla clash has encouraged Arab and left-wing colleagues to try to break Israel’s blockade over free passage to the Gaza coast.
An Iranian maritime convoy to Israel could provoke a military clash on the high seas, but it also would highlight Israel’s claim that lifting the blockade would allow Iran to directly send advanced arms, ammunition and terrorists for the de facto Hamas government in Gaza.
The Iranian Red Crescent ships were prepared with cooperation from the Turkish government, according to the London Express.  Ahmadinejad reportedly told Turkish leaders in Istanbul last week that the vessels would be prepared for a direct clash with the Israeli Defense Forces.
Turkey was one of two countries that voted against new sanctions imposed on Iran last week by the United Nations Security Council. Once considered a friend of Israel and distant from Iran, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has totally reversed government policy over the past two years and has joined the Syrian-Iranian-Hizbullah axis while stating that it still wants goods relations with Israel.

More Iranian Rhetoric

Iran has a history of "threatening" Israel and the U.S. with ridiculous, exaggerated rhetoric. Nothing has changed!! Mid

Iran has threatened “reciprocal measures" against countries, including China and Russia, who voted last week for sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Turkey and Brazil voted against the sanctions, and Lebanon abstained.
"The parliament's Energy Commission has studied ways for taking a decision on imposing sanctions against these countries," Deputy Head of the parliament's Energy Commission Abdollah Ka'bi told the semi-official Fars News Agency.

"Countries like China and Russia which enjoy the highest volume of trade and economic exchanges with Iran will certainly sustain a serious damage in case of any decrease in the volume of trade with these countries," Ka'bi added.
China and Russia have invested and assisted Iran with billions of dollars of investments in the country’s rapidly expanding nuclear program.
Lebanon did not escape Iran’s wrath even though it abstained, an action that the Hizbullah terrorist organization lambasted as a diplomatic mistake. Iran's envoy to Beirut Ghazanfar Rokn-Abadi, referring to friendly relations with Lebanon, told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that Iranian officials had expected their Lebanese counterparts to oppose the resolution. He praised Lebanese parties, such as Hizbullah, who announced their opposition to the sanctions.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad already has ridiculed last week’s resolution for more sanctions as useless and ineffective, and most analysts have said they are limited.
One principle of the resolution is that a ship to Iran can be inspected on suspicion of carrying forbidden weapons of cargo only if the ship’s country of origin gives approval.

15 FACTS ABOUT PALESTINE
THAT YOU WILL NOT HEAR IN THE MEDIA
Ron Cantor, Messiah’s Mandate

I wrote this nearly 10 years ago, but after hearing Chris Cotter on Fox New’s Redeye so confidently declare following words, I thought it was time to edit and resend:

Referring to Helen Thomas’ statement that the Jews should ‘get the hell out of Palestine’ Cotter said, “[Thomas] remembers [before 1948] when Palestine was a nation.” Somehow, a reporter on the Fox Business Channel assumed that Israel came into being by taking over an Arab country called Palestine. Hopefully he knows his stocks better than his history. Sadly no one on the show, including Greg Gutman, the Jewish host, corrected him. So I will…

No Mr. Cotter, Palestine was not a nation in 1947, 46 or 45, not in 1847 or 1047 or 47. In fact, Palestine has never been a nation. To be fair, so many, not just Cotter, simply assume these things from what they pick up in the media. So let us look at these 15 facts.

I. Palestine was NOT an Arab nation that the Jews came in and took over after the UN vote in 1947.

A. Great Britain in fact controlled that region of the Middle East until she grew tired of governing the volatile area and asked the UN to decide what to do with it.

B. Before Great Britain won the land in WWI, the Turks had controlled it since the early 1500s. Turks are not Arabs.

C. In fact, Palestine has never been the name of any country!

II. Where did the name come from?

A. The Romans!

B. In an effort to rid Judea of its Jewishness, the Romans renamed the area Filistia (Palestine) in the mid-130s CE. They were tired of pesky Jewish uprisings and so decided to deport the Jews and change the name. This was how empires kept the nations they conquered from rebelling: Destroy their heritage. The name came from the ancient Philistines (who have no connection to present day Arabs. The Philistines were wiped out in 1200 BCE).[i]

C. It was a region not a nation. There has never been a president of Palestine (before Arafat), or a government of Palestine! It could be compared to New England, which is a region in America and has no government.

III. The UN Vote did not merely give Israel authority to create a state, but granted to the Arabs living on the West side of the Jordan river to also create an independent country.

A. The Arabs rejected it. They could have had their own nation in 1948, but they said no.

B. The Jews accepted it and on May 14th, 1948 Israel was re-birthed.

C. The Arabs on the West Bank became part of Jordan. The Arabs inside of Israel became Israeli citizens.

IV. When the PLO was created Jordan controlled the West Bank.

A. The goal of the PLO was to liberate Palestine. However the West Bank was already in Arab hands.

B. They wanted Israel, not the West Bank!

C. In other words, if their goal was to create an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank, they should’ve been fighting Jordan not Israel!

D. Of course, their goal was Israel’s demise.

V. Before Israel was re-birthed in 1948, any person who lived in that region was considered Palestinian: Arab or Jew. The Jewish newspaper was called the Palestine Post.

A. QUESTIONS:

1. Why would any Jew name his newspaper after another people group?

2. Why would any Jew name his paper after an Arab country?

VI. Jerusalem was first capital of Israel under King David. It has never been the capital of any other country—Including the fictitious Palestine. It has never (until Israel controlled it) been significant to Arabs.

A. In others words you will not find these words in the Koran, but the Hebrew Scriptures:

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. (Ps. 137: 5-6)

VII. When Israel captured Jerusalem, it was not from Palestinians, but from Jordan.

A. Questions:

1. Why didn’t Palestinians demand Jerusalem, when Jordan controlled it (1948-1967)?

2. Why didn’t the Jordanians create an independent Palestinian state with the West Bank? It was certainly in their power. The reason is simple. Jordanians made no distinction between Arabs that lived east of the Jordan and those who lived west of the Jordan. They were all Jordanians.

VIII. Israel had no plans on attacking Jordan during the Six Day War. However, King Hussein believed the false reports from Egyptian President Nasser of Egypt that they were winning the war. King Hussein, in hopes of getting more land, attacked Israel and his troops were driven back over the Jordan River in a matter of days. That is how Israel ended up with Jerusalem in 1967.

IX. There is no language known as Palestinian. They speak Arabic like Jordanians and Syrians and Egyptians.

X. There is no rich Palestinian history. You will not find history books that detail Palestinian culture going back centuries.

XI. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (a nation created by Great Britain 1922), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc.

XII. Arabs control 99.9 percent of the Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of one percent of the landmass.[ii]

XIII. When the Jewish people began to return to ‘Palestine’ in the late 1800s:

A. The Turks, not the Arabs, controlled it.

B. Every bit of Land was paid for by the returning Jews—nothing was stolen!

XIV. Israel was a swamp-infested wasteland that no one, including the Arabs really cared about. Until the Jews returned the land suffered neglect. It was only after the Jews came back and made the land prosperous and fruitful again and developed a nation, that the fictitious Palestinian history was developed.

XV. Religious Significance of Jerusalem

A. Jerusalem or Zion appears nearly ONE THOUSAND times in the Old and New Covenants, whereas it appears in the Koran exactly ZERO times!

The last thing that should be noted is that I wrote this to get the facts out about Palestine. While the history may be made up, the Arabs who live among us here in Israel are real people who were made in God’s image. We must pray for their salvation.

[i] At the time of Christ the Jewish state was ruled by puppet kings of the Romans, the Herods. When the Jews revolted in 66 AD, the Romans destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem (70 AD). The Bar Kokba revolt between 132 and 135 AD was also suppressed, Jericho and Bethlehem were destroyed, and the Jews were barred from Jerusalem. The Roman Emperor Hadrian determined to wipe out the identity of Israel-Judah-Judea. Therefore, he took the name Palastina and imposed it on all the Land of Israel. At the same time, he changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina. The Romans killed many Jews and sold many more in slavery. Some of those who survived left the devastated country (and established Jewish communities throughout the Middle East) but there was never a complete abandonment of the Land of Israel. That is, there were always Jews and Jewish communities in Palestine, though the size and conditions of those communities fluctuated greatly. Israel Headed for Gas-Exporter Status

by Hillel Fendel
IsraelNationalNews
Published: 06/06/10

The updated and increased projections of deposits in Israel's off-shore Mediterranean gas fields have put Israel, for the first time ever, on the road to energy-exporter status.

Noble Energy Inc. and partners – two companies controlled by Yitzchak Teshuva's Delek Group - said their discoveries in the Tamar and Leviathan maritime gas fields may hold between 690 and 850 billion cubic meters of gas. The Tamar field alone has been upgraded to 237 billion cubic meters, or nearly 60 times larger in volume than the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee). It was previously estimated to have held approximately 180 billion cubic meters.

According to the new appraisal, the Leviathan oil field nearby has a good chance – about 50% - of holding gas or oil to the tune of 16 trillion feet – nearly twice the size of Tamar. The finds could supply Israel's gas needs for the next 20 to 35 years.

Minister of Infrastructures Uzi Landau said, "The significance of these new finds is historic. The uncertainty has been removed, Israel is clearly a gas power, and could become a main player in the international natural gas market."

"If it truly becomes possible to produce this gas," he said on Thursday, "this could make a revolution both economically and environmentally, and Israel could turn from a consumer to a supplier of gas. This is a jump that could mean economic independence for Israel in its 63rd year."

Economists agreed. “This has the potential to turn Israel into a key regional gas player," Gil Bashan, an analyst at the IBI investment house in Tel Aviv, told Bloomberg.com. “This is also a major plus for the economy and for the partners operating the licenses, which can produce value by becoming major exporters.”

“The option for exporting natural gas has become much more realistic,” Asaf Bartfeld, chief executive officer of Delek Group Ltd., similarly said. “We may be able to supply the European market and the Far East where demand is highest. Though, of course, at this point, we are waiting to drill and to try and confirm the gas.”

Exporting gas is still years and billions of dollars of infrastructures away, however, analysts say.

"The attractive terms offered by the Government of Israel were what encouraged the companies to go out on this pioneering adventure to seek oil in unknown waters," Minister Landau said. "I congratulate all those involved on their daring, faith and patience in this endeavor. The Ministry of Infrastructures plans to grant whatever support is needed so that the natural gas can be used as quickly as possible. During these difficult days, when Israel is under attack from every direction, it is good to know that the land promised to the Jewish People flows with milk, honey and especially natural gas."

I especially love the last line from this article:

Rabbis Compare Flotilla to Beginning of Gog-Magog War

(Washington, D.C., June 3, 2010) -- A pastor friend of mine who is helping us set up the 2010 Epicenter Conference in Philadelphia later this month just sent me an urgent text message with this headline from Israel National News: "RABBIS: FLOTILLA CLASH SIMILAR TO GOG AND MAGOG PROPHESY." As you might expect, it caught my attention right away. Excerpts:

* "The Rabbinical Council of Judea and Samaria issued a statement Thursday in which it said that the results of the incident in which Israel intercepted a flotilla trying to break the naval blockade of Gaza seem like the Biblical description of "the beginning of the Gog and Magog process where the world is against us, but which ends with the third and final redemption….

* "The Council was formed by Rabbi Zalman Melamed of Beit El and includes leading religious Zionist rabbis who are the spiritual leaders of communities in Judea and Samaria….

* "'Gog and Magog' is a reference is to chapters 38 and 39 in the book of Ezekiel, a part of which is read on the intermediate Sabbath of Sukkot (Tabernacles). These chapters describe a vision of a war where the world is united against Israel that will precede the final redemption of Israel and the world. The prophecy's symbolism involves a prince called Gog of Magog, leader of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, who leads a coalition that includes Persia (Iran), Cush, Phut, Gomer, and Beit Togarmah against Israel. There are various opinions regarding the modern identity of these nations."

There is growing interest in the Ezekiel prophecies and whether they could play out in our lifetime. I believe it is still too early to say anything definitively. But I agree that current events are strikingly consistent with the prophecies and I believe it is possible that we could see these events unfold soon. The mention of "Gomer" in Ezekiel, for example, refers to the modern-day State of Turkey which will be an enemy of Israel and part of a Russian-Iranian alliance against the Jewish state. I'm not saying the prophecy will necessarily come to pass soon, but I can't rule out that possibility. We've never seen a convergence of geopolitical and spiritual events so consistent with Ezekiel 38-39 in history like we are seeing today. We need to be prayerful, sober, alert and prepared. At the conference on June 25-26 in Philly, I will address the latest developments. But I knew you'd want to see this article. It's posted on my weblog -- http://flashtrafficblog.wordpress.com/.

The Truth Is Ignored...Once Again

How hard is it to search for the truth of a matter in this day and age, and yet, the world's bias toward Israel is brought to light with each passing day. Even clear videos showing the intent of those aboard the 6th so-called-humanitarian aid ship is ignored. The fact that the so-called peace activists were funded by a terrorist organization is ignored. The fact that Israeli soldiers, at first armed only with paintball guns, were clearly and brutally attacked with knives, iron pipes and guns is ignored. The fact that Israeli waters were invaded and yet Israel gave a reasonable alternative for getting the aid to Gaza is ignored. The fact that Israel communicated the way for the 6th ship to distribute its aid and the ship clearly refused was ignored. All of these facts were deliberately ignored and only the headlines and stories that activists were killed, without giving the details of the matter, were printed and splashed across the news papers and television screens worldwide. Talk about a fulfillment of prophesy!! I could list all the redeeming qualities of Israel and its contribution to the world on a daily basis, and none of it would matter, for satan has deceived the world, and they want to have it so...
