Congress Pressures Obama to Retreat on Jerusalem

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu Congress vs. Obama on Jerusalem

Approximately 75 percent of U.S. Congress members are prepared to sign a letter calling for an end to public criticism of Israel by the Obama administration and to "reinforce its ties with the country," according to the British Guardian.

An open letter states, “Our view is that such differences are best resolved quietly, in trust and confidence." The wording was suggested by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) lobby, which is asking Congress members to help improve relations between U.S. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

The one-year-old American government has in effect discarded the Roadmap plan, which already had been detoured by then-U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, by mediating indirect talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority and gaining concessions from the Netanyahu government without parallel steps by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

However, its demands concerning Jerusalem apparently have crossed the red line for Diaspora Jews as well as for many liberal leaders in Israel, causing a rift among the president’s advisers.

The White House on Tuesday tried to smooth over relations, with spokesman Robert Gibbs saying he was ”puzzled" by reports that President Obama snubbed Prime Minister Netanyahu by not holding a press conference or providing an opportunity for a public photograph. “I’m puzzled by the notion that somehow it’s a bad deal to get two hours with the president almost entirely alone,” he told reporters. “That doesn’t seem like a lot of punishment to me.”

He also denied a rumor in the media that the United States was prepared to refrain from vetoing a possible United Nations resolution against Israel’s building for Jews in areas of Jerusalem that were restored to the Jewish State in 1967 but are not recognized by United States as being under Israeli sovereignty. Approximately 300,000 Jews live in the neighborhoods, which include Ramot, French Hill and Gilo.

If the report was a trial balloon, the response appears to have let all the air out as Cabinet ministers line up behind Prime Minister Netanyahu to refuse to agree to a temporary building freeze.

Most of President Obama’s advisers have taken a pro-Palestinian Authority stand, backing its claims to sovereignty over part of the city. Foreign media have reported that President Obama’s public stand against Israel, beginning with his speech in Cairo last June that Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria are “illegitimate,” has placed him out on a limb.

“The administration's credibility is at stake,”one source reportedly said.

Israel fears Obama heading for imposed Mideast settlement

By Ari Shavit, Haaretz Correspondent

U.S. President Barack Obama's demands during his meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last Tuesday point to an intention to impose a permanent settlement on Israel and the Palestinians in less than two years, political sources in Jerusalem say.

Israeli officials view the demands that Obama made at the White House as the tip of the iceberg under which lies a dramatic change in U.S. policy toward Israel.

Of 10 demands posed by Obama, four deal with Jerusalem: opening a Palestinian commercial interests office in East Jerusalem, an end to the razing of structures in Palestinian neighborhoods in the capital, stopping construction in Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, and not building the neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo.

But another key demand - to discuss the dispute's core issues during the indirect talks that are planned - is perceived in Jerusalem as problematic because it implies that direct negotiations would be bypassed. This would set up a framework through which the Americans would be able to impose a final settlement.

It is not just Obama's demands that are perceived as problematic, but also the new modus operandi of American diplomacy. The fact that the White House and State Department have been in contact with Israel's European allies, first and foremost Germany, is seen as part of an effort to isolate Israel and put enormous political pressure on it.

Notice this statement from the story, "the Americans would be able to impose a final settlement"! We shouldn't be surprised at that based on all that's taken place in the USA during the past year. There is a "demand" mentality in place, and its momentum is building and spreading worldwide. A settlement agreement wouldn't be two years away either.

If Netanyahu caves to Obama on Jerusalem, his government would likely self-destruct. That's a sobering observation.

Jerusalem should be at world's center

By JONNY PAUL, JERUSALEM POST CORRESPONDENT
24/03/2010 01:00

LONDON – Jerusalem should return to the role it played in history, when it was the center of the world and a major destination for tourists and pilgrims from all religions, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat told an audience at the prestigious London think-tank Chatham House on Monday evening.

“I want to return the role Jerusalem played 2,000-3,000 years ago to the front of the table, when it was the center of the world, where modern civilization started, a destination for tourists, for pilgrims from all religions. Jerusalem has that potential today,” he said.

The Right to Our Opinion

Let’s all take a deep breath. All of us. Now that the latest meeting between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ended, we would do well to accept the not-so-bitter truth: At this time there are disagreements between the United States and Israel.

Two new governments on both sides do not see eye to eye on diplomatic realities and have different attitudes to Jerusalem. We could have caved in, or tried to blur the gaps, yet this would be a missed opportunity. It is better to reconcile ourselves to this diplomatic reality and recognize it. This is the situation, dear citizens: Israel thinks differently than America.

Instead of getting scared of this fragile situation, we need to speak out boldly: On the other side, there are quite a few people who fail to understand the limits of power.

It doesn’t matter what they tell you about what’s really happening between the White House and Israel, one thing is clear: The notion someone planted in Obama’s head, whereby Netanyahu will make statements that contradict his beliefs and his voters’ worldview, and that would shatter his coalition and split the Likud – this notion is foolish and unreasonable.

Indeed, this notion casts doubt on President Obama’s ability to conduct himself vis-à-vis Israel the way one should conduct himself vis-à-vis an ally.

Long-term opportunity

Of course, there is no reason to panic. Yet there is definitely room for regret. It is regrettable that the American Administration comprises figures who do not respect Israel’s right to think differently than them. It is regrettable that officials around Obama have embarked on a rash effort to turn the US, within a short period of time, into a friend of the Muslim world even if this means clashing with their ally.

Most of all, what’s regrettable is the very thought that a deep and complex conflict like the one involving Israel and the Palestinians is the kind of thing that can be managed in a capricious and aggressive manner, without listening to the mood on both sides.

Even if Obama and Netanyahu overcome the latest bump in the road, this is no longer an optical illusion: There are disagreements between Israel and America. This is unpleasant in the short term, yet in the long term it’s a situation that also presents an opportunity – the opportunity to face the Americans candidly and tell them: Precisely because you are our real allies, you will have to cope with one of our most basic rights – the right to think differently than you about our future.

Pakistan Christian “Burned”, Wife “Raped”, For Refusing Islam

Saturday, March 20, 2010 (12:06 pm)
By BosNewsLife Asia Service reporting from Pakistan

Story link here

RAWALPINDI, PAKISTAN (BosNewsLife)-- A Christian man was fighting for his life in Pakistan's Punjab province Saturday, March 20, after Muslim leaders backed by police burned him alive for refusing to convert to Islam, while his wife was raped by police officers, Christian and hospital sources familiar with the case told BosNewsLife.

Arshed Masih was burned Friday, March 19, in front of a police station in the city of Rawalpindi near Pakistan's capital Islamabad, following apparent death threats from his Muslim employer Sheikh Mohammad Sultan, an influential businessman, and religious leaders, said the Rawalpindi Holy Family Hospital.

His wife, Martha Arshed, was allegedly raped by police officers. Their three children -- ranging in age from 7 to 12-- were reportedly forced to witness the attacks against their parents.

"Both [Masih] and wife were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital and are under treatment," the hospital said.

He was listed in serious condition with about 80 percent of his body burned.

POLICE INVESTIGATION

Local police officials said they were "aware" of the attacks carried out by Muslim leaders and apparently at least some officers and added that an investigation was underway. No arrests were reported yet late Saturday, March 19.

Sheikh Mohammad Sultan could not immediately be reached for comment and it was not clear whether he had been in contact with police Saturday, March 20.

Before tensions emerged about their Christian faith, Masih worked as a driver and his wife as a maid for the Muslim businessman since 2005, Christians said.

The couple apparently lived with their children in the servant quarters of Sultan's estate in Rawalpindi, a key trade and tourist destination. In January, religious leaders and Sultan allegedly asked Arshed to convert to Islam with his whole family. After he refused, the group reportedly threatened him with "dire consequences".

DEATH THREAT

Arshed offered to quit his job, but the businessman allegedly said he would "kill" him if he were to leave.

He apparently also told Christian mediators that he would never allow the Christian family to live somewhere else.

This week tensions rose after Sultan reported a theft of 500,000 Pakistani Rupees (5,952$), according to a document seen by BosNewsLife.

The Christian family members were not named as suspects in the so-called 'First Information Report' from police.

Sources familiar with the situation, who asked not to be identified for security reasons, told BosNewsLife that the businessman had offered the couple to drop the case if they convert to Islam or "else that both would not see their children again."

However, "Arshed refused to convert and stood firm in his faith. Arshed`s wife was raped by the police and he was burned alive," Friday, March 19, local Christians said, speaking on condition of anonimity.

The case comes at a time when church groups have complained about growing attacks against minority Christians by Muslim militants, often with the alleged support by local law enforcement officials and other authorities.

That disturbing story from Pakistan made the news headlines, but many similiar stories happen often and go un-reported. However, it is a precursor of things to come for Israel and much of the world.

During the coming tribulation period, many will be martyred for their faith, for their refusal to bow down to pagan gods, and for their refusal to take the mark of Revelation 13:15-16 and Revelation 20:4.

In Revelation 6:9 the apostle John saw the souls in heaven of those who had been slain for their testimony.

Revelation 6:9
When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.

How strong is your faith today? How strong is mine? Would our testimony hold firm under torture - even to the point of imminent and certain death for our refusal to submit? Would we have the kind of enduring faith that Pakistan family showed in the face of pain and death?

Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross of Calvary for us in our place that we might live. He gave His life for us...what would we do for Him? We must be very sure.

Yesha sends letter to Clinton over E. Jerusalem!

As Christians, we should be strengthening our resolve to stand with Israel, by reading through the Tenach (Old Testament) --You'll find a treasure trove of verses spoken by the Lord, Himself, on how HE feels about Israel!!

In a letter to US. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Jewish leaders in Judea and Samaria explain the unshakeable historic and religious bonds between the Jewish People and Jerusalem.
The letter was written in response to President Obama’s and Clinton’s criticism of Israel’s intentions to build in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo. The neighborhood is a part of Jerusalem-proper, and is surrounded nearly completely by Jewish-populated areas. Though it is part of area liberated by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War, it was not recaptured from Jordan, but was rather considered no-man’s land between 1949 and 1967.
“We wish to share with you the sentiment and consensus among the Israeli public” regarding Jerusalem, the leaders of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria (Yesha Council) wrote to Ms. Clinton, who sharply berated Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu this week over the issue.

The letter continues:
“We Israelis believe in the integrity of a strong, unified and undivided capital for our nation – Jerusalem, the Holy City. We Jews are the descendants of King David, and of a hundred generations of Jews who built and glorified Jerusalem as our capital, beginning over 3,000 years ago.

"From time immemorial, the Jews have worshipped towards Jerusalem and the Holy Temple – and prayed for Jerusalem since the dawn of our civilization.
"Neither Romans nor Greek, Crusaders nor Arabs, Ottomans nor British ever succeeded in shaking our bonds with Jerusalem. Thus, when you demand that we not build housing in our capital, or that we divide our capital and surrender parts of it to others, you must realize that this is unacceptable to Jews everywhere and to us Israelis.
"We will not negotiate on the issue of Jerusalem. We will never divide Jerusalem.
"The Jewish People worldwide support Prime Minister Netanyahu’s action, and stand firmly behind him on this important issue of Israel’s right to defend itself as a sovereign nation.
"We deeply appreciate America’s friendship, but it must be clearly understood: We are a free and sovereign people, and we have the right to determine our destiny."

TRAIN WRECK: CRISIS EMERGING IN U.S.-ISRAEL RELATIONS

White House trying to divide Jerusalem. How should Christians respond?
Next Epicenter Conference to focus on this issue.
By Joel C. Rosenberg
(Washington, D.C., March 15, 2010) -- With Prime Minister Netanyahu scheduled to arrive in Washington this weekend to address the AIPAC Policy Conference, Israel's Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren told Israeli diplomats in a conference call over the weekend that U.S.-Israel relations face the worst crisis in 35 years.
White House senior advisor David Axelrod said on NBC's Meet The Press yesterday, "I think both the Vice President and the Secretary of State reflected the President's thinking -- this was an affront, an insult [by Israel], but most importantly it undermined this very fragile effort to bring peace to this region. And for this announcement to come at this time was very, very destructive."
During Vice President Biden's trip to Jerusalem last week to show American support for Israel, our most faithful and enduring strategic ally in the region, some lower-level officials in the Israeli bureaucracy decided it would be a good time to announce the building of 1,600 new homes in a Jewish neighborhood of East Jerusalem. The Palestinian Authority immediately went ballistic, and the Vice President was deeply offended, telling Prime Minister Netanyahu that the timing of the announcement made the Israelis appear to be trying to sabotage the beginning to new peace talks with the Palestinians. Netanyahu immediately apologized, saying he had not authorized the announcement to be made during the VP's trip and was not trying to derail or disrupt the VP's trip. Biden appeared to accept the apology, and Netanyahu thought the mistake had been resolved.
Since then, however, the situation has worsened significantly. Three days after the incident, Secretary of State Clinton called Netanyahu and reamed him out for 43 minutes. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters on Friday that Clinton told Netanyahu that the U.S. had "strong objections to Tuesday's announcement, not just in terms of timing, but also in its substance." Clinton gave Netanyahu a list of specific demands that Israel must take for the U.S. to be convinced that she is serious about peace with the Palestinians.
First things first: The Israeli government and people have every right to build homes in its own capital and the Obama administration is dramatically overreacting, to its discredit. The President, Vice President and Secretary of State are tipping their hand by their words and actions. They clearly don't believe in Israeli sovereignty over its own capital. They want to force Israel to divide its capital, come Hell or high water. They are applying intense pressure on Israel to divide Jerusalem and give away more land even though two recent "land for peace" efforts (southern Lebanon in 2000, and Gaza in 2005) were disasters for Israel and led to two serious wars. This is an enormous mistake. I cannot put into words how strongly I disagree with this administration and their disastrous approach. Jerusalem is the Lord's chosen city. It is His capital. It is and should remain the undivided capital of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
Second, Prime Minister Netanyahu was right to apologize over the timing of the announcement, and not the substance. [More details on this on the weblog]
Third, the management system within the Prime Minister's office is not functioning properly and needs to be fixed immediately, or other diplomatic disasters will occur. [More details on this on the weblog]
Fourth, as U.S.-Israel relations worsen and Israelis feel more and more isolated in the world, it is critical that followers of Jesus Christ build a global movement of Christians who will pray for Israel and visit Israel and bless Israel, come what may.
Christians should assert that Jerusalem is Israel's capital and shouldn't be divided. Christians should call on Washington to stop pressuring Israel to make unwise and dangerous concessions. Christians should write letters to the White House, State Department and Congress showing their solidarity with Israel. Christians should call into radio and TV talk shows in support of Israel and keeping Jerusalem united. Christians should visit Israel and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Christians should care for the poor and needy in East and West Jerusalem, as well as throughout Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, thus demonstrating unconditional love and unwavering support.
This is precisely what the 2010 Epicenter Conference in Philadelphia this summer is all about, and I hope you will make plans to join us. We will analyze the current status of U.S.-Israeli relations. We will look at Bible prophesy. Then we will offer real and practical ways you and your family, friends and congregation can bless Israel and her neighbors at this critical juncture. I would particularly encourage pastors and ministry leaders from across North America to come and be part of this conference, and take the message and practical ideas back to your congregations and communities. Please register today to make sure there's a seat just for you. Please also pray that the Lord would superintend this conference to accomplish His purposes, and reach those whom He is calling, especially given the events of the past few days. Thanks so much.

Jerusalem - The Burdensome Stone

Zechariah 12:2,3 NASB
Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.

Zechariah 12:2,3 KJV
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Zechariah 12:2,3 NIV
I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.

From almost any Bible translation you might prefer to use, the message is clear. The Lord God is warning that in the last days just before Jesus' return, Jerusalem would be the center of attention and conflict for all who would attempt to control that great city, the apple of God's eye.

One cannot listen to the news broadcasts or read the printed media today without learning of some new treaty proposal, on-going terrorist actions, high-level meetings between world leaders, military threats, sanctions, matters of occupation, etc. The list goes on and on - and the battle over Jerusalem is intensifying each week.

The nations involved, including the USA, seem to be obsessed in their efforts to divide Jerusalem, with some determined to destroy Israel as a people and nation. The intensity of those efforts was hardly news worthy just a few years ago, but now occupy the news headlines everywhere.

Bible prophecy continues to rapidly unfold even as you read this. Yes, Jerusalem has now become the burdensome stone the prophet Zechariah wrote about almost 2500 years ago. From those Scriptures, we also know that God has promised to destroy the nations that go up against Israel. I personally believe that Jerusalem is God's "line in the sand", and when crossed, His fierce wrath and judgment will be unleashed on the unbelieving world.

Our Lord came here the first time...exactly as Scripture said He would. Our Lord is sure to return a second time...exactly as the Scriptures say He will. We are living in the last days. His return is imminent. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Finally, Some Chutzpah from American Jews!!!

by Maayana Miskin US Jews Condemn Biden's Remarks

The veteran United States-based Young Israel movement condemned U.S. Vice President Biden on Thursday, telling Biden to leave Jerusalem alone. The American vice president had condemned Israel's decision to allow Jews to build in historic Jerusalem, in an area that has been annexed by Israel but is claimed by the Palestinian Authority.

"We strongly 'condemn' Vice President Biden's statements and respectfully urge him to rescind his incendiary remarks about Jerusalem,” said Young Israel President Shlomo Mostofsky.

"The reality is that there is no such entity as 'East Jerusalem,' there is only Jerusalem, which is the united capital of Israel,” Mostofsky continued. “Only Israel can make determinations regarding Jerusalem's future expansion and development.”

Mostofsky compared the situation to construction of homes in the American capital. “It would be anathema for a Vice President to support a statute that banned any American from relocated to, or from building a home in, Washington D.C. Or  any American community because the neighbors objected to their presence based solely on religion, ethnicity or origin,” he said. By expecting Jews to be banned from certain Jerusalem neighborhoods simply because they are Jewish, Biden 'ignored our American values of equality and justice,” he charged.

Biden made the mistake of giving the Palestinian Authority a false impression, said Mostofsky. Biden led the PA to believe that America would pressure Israel into negotiating the status of Jerusalem, he said, when in reality, Israelis overwhelmingly oppose putting Jerusalem on the table in talks with the PA.

"Instead of pandering to terrorists, the Vice President should have told the PA to amend its charter, stop preaching hatred in their schools and mosques, and immediately halt all plans for terrorist attacks,” Mostofsky suggested.

Leftist Views same as being an Arab Muslim Terrorist

Israel continues to be vilified by none other than Arab lies and the leftist-liberal media and like minded people, which I find interesting, because many of these people are Jews...who don't seem to mind being on the same side as terrorists.
Where does all this hatred come from? Here's a hint: From the Complete Jewish Bible: Genesis 3:14, 15 "Adonai, God, said to the serpent, because you have done this, you are cursed more than all livestock and wild animals. You will crawl on your belly and eat dust as long as you live. I will put animosity between you and the woman and between your descendant and her descendant; He will bruise your head, and you will bruise His heel."
Satan has not ceased day or night to come against God's anointed and His people. If you notice, Arab Muslims have a mandate to be at war with Christians and Jews. And those who do not believe God's Written Word, side with them. This is not just happenstance. It was prophesied from the very beginning, and it will continue until Yeshua returns to put Satan, and those who follow him, under His feet!!

I Corinthians 15:24-25 "then -- the culmination, when He hands over the Kingdom to God the Father, after having put an end to all all rulership, yes, to every authority and power.25For He has to rule until He puts all His enemies under His feet

Ephesians 1:20-23
20when He worked in Messiah, to raise Him from the dead, and seat Him at His right hand in the heaven,
21far above every ruler, and authority, power, dominion or any other name that can be named in the olam hazeh (this age) or in the olam haba (coming age); 22Also, He has put all things under His feet, and made Him head over everything to the Messianic community,23which is His body, the full expression of Him who fills all creation."

But we do not have to wait until then and do nothing...we can pray and stand united for Israel!!

Prof. Ben-Tzion Netanyahu 100th Birthday Party...

The Netanyahu clan, the Likud elite and leading political figures including President Shimon Peres gathered at a closed event in Jerusalem on Sunday to honor Prof. Ben-Tzion Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's father, on his 100th birthday.

In typical non-sentimental fashion, Prof. Netanyahu used the occasion at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center to deliver a stern, timely message of warning.  “From the Iranian side we hear the promise that in a short while – in a matter of days – an end will be put to the Zionist movement and there will be no more Zionists in the world,” he told the gathering. “One is supposed to conclude from this that the Jews of the Land of Israel will be annihilated, while the Jews of America, whose leaders refused to join the pressure on Iran, are being told in a hinted way that the annihilation of the Jews will not include them...”

“On the other hand, the Jewish people is making its position clear, and trusting its great military might. The Nation of Israel is showing the world today how a nation should behave when it stands before an existential threat: to look the danger in the eye; to weigh in a calm and collected fashion what should be done and what can be done; and to be ready to enter the fray at the moment the chances of success appear reasonable.”

Prof. Netanyahu concluded: “We must have the ability to stand firm mentally, which requires the presence of great powers of spirit. The People of Israel is showing the world today that it possesses such powers of spirit, and this is where my faith resides: an unqualified faith that our nation will fend off the danger that threatens its existence.”
Prophetic Intellect
The speakers at the centenary event included Yossi Achimeir, Director of the Jabotinsky Center,  President Shimon Peres, and historian Prof. Yirmiyahu Yovel. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the younger Netanyahu brother, Dr. Iddo Netanyahu, spoke admiringly of their father, and of their pride at being raised by him. The speakers' accounts of Prof. Netanyahu's character and work, and a videotaped interview with him that was screened in short sections between the speeches, combined to create a picture of a man with a sometimes-prophetic historical vision who has exerted tremendous personal influence on modern Jewish history through his own mental and political prowess and by virtue of the education and guidance he provided for his sons.

He was never as famous or directly influential as his two elder sons – the illustrious Lt.-Col. Yoni Netanyahu, who commanded the elite IDF forces in the 1976 Entebbe Raid in which he met his death, and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu – but at the event Sunday, it was clear that their accomplishments were in large part a result of the upbringing they received. The image that emerged of Prof. Netanyahu was that of a man of great power of intellect and character, as well as the courage to stand up for what he believed in when it was not popular.

In one of the evening's many amusing moments, Prime Minister Netanyahu used his speech to dispel what he said was a false media account of his childhood home as being ruled by 'Prussian-style' discipline. Rather, he said, when his father entertained important guests in the front part of the house, he and his brothers used to host boys from the entire neighborhood in their room in the back of the house. They would close the door, place a towel in the crack between it and the floor, turn off the lights – and proceed to engage in wild pillow-fights. When things got too loud, his mother Tzila would knock on the door and ask to keep the volume down, but the pillow fight went on.

Prof. Netanyahu has been vocally critical of his son Binyamin when he deemed that he had veered off the proper Zionist path. He was extremely critical of his son's agreement to transfer part of Hevron to Arab hands in the 1996 Wye Accords, and signed a petition that called the 2005 Gaza Disengagement – for which his son voted in the Knesset, though later opposed – “a crime against humanity.”

"Peace" talks hit snag before getting started....

So, get this...Our illustrious VP flies to Israel to "talk" about Iran and the threat it imposes on Israel and the US, and, oh, by the way, to try to coerce Bibi into giving up the Golan and half of Jerusalem (East), and before his plane lands, work begins on new apartment complexes in the so-called freeze zone... Read about it HERE:

Anyone care to speculate as to Who, exactly, is in charge of the situation there??? I'll give you a hint: Psalm 125 from the Complete Jewish Bible: "Those who trust in Adonai, are like Mt. Tziyon, which cannot be moved but remains forever. Yerushalayim! Mountains all around it! Thus Adonai is around His people henceforth and forever. For the scepter of wickedness will not rule the inheritance of the righteous so that the righteous will not themselves turn their hands to evil. Do good, Adonai, to the good, to those upright in their hearts. But as for those who turn aside to their own crooked ways, may Adonai turn them away along with those who do evil."
