"This Is 'My Land', " says the Lord

No matter which translation you read, verses 1 and 2 of Joel 3, say that Israel will be prosperous in the Day of Judgment against the nations, and the Lord says He will judge them because they divided the land of Israel--His Land!!!

May the Lord open your eyes of understanding to what's going on in Israel, before it is too late.

Joel 3 New International Version

"In those days and at that time,
when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather all nations
and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
There I will enter into judgment against them
concerning my inheritance, my people Israel,
for they scattered my people among the nations
and divided up my land...

King James Version of Joel 3

For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land...

New Living Translation of Joel 3
“At the time of those events,” says the Lord,
“when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather the armies of the world
into the valley of Jehoshaphat.
There I will judge them
for harming my people, my special possession,
for scattering my people among the nations,
and for dividing up my land...

Contemporary English Version of Joel 3
At that time I, the LORD, will make Judah and Jerusalem prosperous again.
Then in Judgment Valley
I will bring together the nations that scattered my people Israel everywhere in the world, and I will bring charges against those nations. They divided up my land...

Mid, of the four translations you quoted, three refer to Israel being in a restored or prosperous condition. Does that mean they would have material wealth? Or, is it that they become spiritually prosperous from their return to their own land after years and years of being scattered among the nations?

In terms of material wealth, perhaps their recent discovery of a bazillion cubic feet of natural gas offshore would be a contributing factor. Many countries would love to get their hands on that product.

Either way ... prophecy events are moving quickly! The land belongs to the Lord, He has a perfect plan for His people, and He is in control today, tomorrow, and forever!

Come quickly Lord Jesus!

Many of us in Canada pray for Israel daily and in unity.

Thank you, Hope!!!!!! I do, too...with all my heart!

and, Don, if you read this with Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 (notice the numbers!) esp. verse 12 of Ezekiel...a spoil means there is wealth to plunder. Many believe Israel will become wealthy and come into a time of peace before the Gog-Magog war. Interesting reading and much there for refection and prayer!

Yes Mid, I did notice the numbers, but don't think it's significant.

From Ezek. 38, I also believe Israel will become wealthy and come into a time of peace before the Gog-Magog war.

There's no way we can know, but I personally believe Ps. 83 and Is. 17 must happen before the Ezek. 38-39 war. The players of the Ps. 83 and Is. 17 war(s) involve Israel's nearby enemy neighbor countries who aren't included in the Ezek. 38-39 war. After Israel destroys those neighbors and claims their land, Israel will be rich and living in a perceived peace. It is then that the participants of the Ezek. 38-39 war come against Israel attempting to take (plunder) the spoils (wealth) Israel gained from the Ps. 83 and Is. 17 war - not to mention the possible oil and gas reserves recently discovered.

By the way, Ezek. 38-39 is not Armageddon. Again...the players, purpose, and outcome of Armageddon is much different. Armageddon is a campaign or a series of battles very near the end of the tribulation that culminate at the second coming of Christ.

I love the book of Joel. When our youngest foster son joined our family, we prayerfully claimed Joel 2:25 for his life: "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten...." God will honored his word in the life of our son and will also do that for the Apple of his eye!
