The War this Yom Kippur

Friday 17 September 2010 by Stan Goodenough (Jerusalem)
They are ganging up on Israel, and are going to paint Prime Minister Netanyahu the lone culprit when the “peace” process falls. To withstand the American-European-Arab alliance, the Israeli will need all the strengthening he can get in the week ahead. That means Christian support and prayer. Apart from among Israel’s Jews, he’s not going to find help anywhere else.
We cannot imagine the pressure he is under at this moment to not resume building in Samaria and Judea when the “settlement freeze” expires September 26. The unrelenting demand on him has intensified in the hours leading up to Yom Kippur (which begins Friday afternoon Israel time). He will gain a little respite during this Day of Atonement, but the pressure will be back in full force the moment the fast is past.
On Thursday, they addressed Netanyahu with one voice:
Visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “appealed” to the Israeli leader to continue the freeze, even just for a “limited time,” saying it would be “extremely useful” if he would agree.
She stressed President Barack Obama believed “doing something about the moratorium” would be “an important decision by Israel [and] in the interest of the negotiations.”
The European Union issued a declaration adopted by foreign ministers who demanded the freeze continue and “recall[ed] that settlements are illegal under international law.”
In excerpts published Thursday evening from an interview with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak – filmed by Israel’s Channel One television station and scheduled to be broadcast to the nation Saturday evening directly after Yom Kipper – the Egyptian ruler said he had “told” Netanyahu “to extend the freeze for at least three or four months [to] help achieve satisfactory results.”
When, according to Mubarak, the prime minister said he could not do so due to resistance within his government, the Egyptian said he “told Netanyahu to forget about all those who are hesitant and skeptical and to continue with the settlement freeze for a few more months at least.”
Mubarak said he had warned Netanyahu that extending the freeze was a small price to pay compared with the repercussions of failing to do so.
All this the Israeli public will hear Saturday night.
Taking full advantage of this unified front against his enemy, PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas told reporters Thursday that failing to extend the moratorium jeopardized the peace process.
And Arab League president Amr Moussa darkly told Reuters there was “no use continuing negotiations if settlement construction does not stop.”
It is easy to criticize Netanyahu’s perceived weaknesses, to pontificate, that if he can’t stand the heat he should never have entered the kitchen.
While there are times when such criticism may be helpful, I don’t believe this is one of them. It will only add to the already wall-to-wall weight under which no secular leader of a tiny little country like Israel can stand.
As Christians who believe that the territory in question – which the international community is trying everything in its power to wrest from Israel’s control – is the Jewish people’s God-given land;
As Christians who recognize that the establishment of a Palestinian state on that land will immeasurably heighten the existential threat to Israel;
As Christians who see vividly that the only “solution” contained in this land-for-peace process is the solution to the Muslim world’s problem with the Jews;
As Christians who understand that Israel’s government and prime minister are looking for human answers to what is, in reality, a spiritual question;
And as Christians who believe that Israel’s Commander in Chief outranks America’s commander in chief and has already determined to thwart Obama’s plan and the plan of the nations:
Today, as the Jews go into their synagogues and houses and chambers and come to the end of their Days of Awe, of soul searching and repentance; and as Prime Minister Netanyahu himself looks perhaps inwards or upwards for the wherewithal to withstand the assault that will resume tomorrow night – let us gather around Israel and around Bibi in prayer, and also in fasting.
Let us enter the Throne Room, and as the scepter is extended, let us petition Almighty God – the God of Israel – to confound the plans of the Obama administration, of the European Union, of the United Nations, of the Arab League, and of every member of the anti-Israel coalition.
Let us ask Him to brace up Israel’s leadership – those in the Knesset who want to end the “freeze” – and to give, especially the prime minister, heavenly assistance; supernatural inspiration and strategy, and a strength above and beyond his natural ability to withstand all that is brought to bear against him.
Then let us act.
Let us get onto our representatives TODAY and demand that they call for an end to the shameful and unjust coercion of the Israeli government; let them know that we deplore this anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian position that has now been adopted so openly by the political leadership in our countries – especially if we are American or European. Write to the editors of your local media, decrying the bullying tactics that are being used against Israel. And when they “report” in the usual biased way – joining in the finger pointing at Netanyahu – condemn the press prejudice and insist that they stick to the facts and at least give BOTH sides a fair hearing.
Here in Israel we are gearing up for action too. On September 26 – D-Day for ending the freeze – hundreds of visiting Christians from all over the world will be gathering in the “settlement” of Ariel, capital of Samaria, to affirm the right of the Jewish people – formed into a nation in the very place which the world wants them to surrender – to build and to grow and to give birth and to live and to continue to thrive in the  land given exclusively by God to the descendants of Jacob forever.

Meanwhile – let us not be idle. We have a great deal to do.
And may the Lord hear the prayers of His people.

Jerusalem is our Heart!

Tevet 28, 5770, 14 January 10 07:27
by Menachem Sachs
(Israelnationalnews.com) Someone once wrote to a doctor and asked,"Doctor, would you operate to remove someone's heart if you knew that the rest of the body will survive at the status quo?"The doctor responded by writing back,"Even if the body stays at the status quo, why would I do this. Without a heart, how would the patient feel?"
When thinking of this story I think of Jerusalem as the heart and the Jewish people as the body. As of late there has been a lot of debate on the status of the city of Jerusalem. You have to give credit where credit is due, the Arab propaganda machine has some how created a link between final peace agreement and Jerusalem.
Yet Jerusalem has been at the heart of the Jewish people ever since we have been a "people". It was divided, we were not allowed into its Old City. Finally in 1967, during the 6 day war, we liberated it from Arab (Jordanian) control.
Looking back before '67 we see that the Arab's did nothing but conduct missions of destruction to all Jewish and Christian sites in the Old City. Jewish cemeteries were desecrated and tombstones taken and used as sidewalks and latrines. Synagogues were destroyed and vandalized, all in the name of Islam. Under Israeli control, Jerusalem has grown for all religions and become a safe haven for all religions to worship freely.
Jerusalem is also important to the Jewish religion as compared to the Islamic religion. One needs only look into the holy book of each religion to see the level of importance. In the holy Torah (Judaism) Jerusalem is mentioned, by name, 622 times. In the Koran (Islam) Jerusalem is not mentioned once, by any name. Oddly enough, the country of Israel (or any other name for that piece of land) is also not mentioned in the Koran. So on what basis is it that they demand Jerusalem?
The only reasons possible are as follows:
1. To destroy any chance for peace because of the importance of Jerusalem to the Jewish people.
2. To get Jerusalem as a strategic position for a future attack or war.
Thats it.... there are no other reasons that the Arabs could want Jerusalem other than to be a stepping stone towards the complete wiping out of the State of Israel. Arabs have been able to buy property, vote in elections and (in most cases) work in Jerusalem if they were residents of the city.
What has bothered them up until now? Why are they complaining? The answer is that as a victim, you get more air time. Thats it. This is the same story in Gaza, Jenin, Hevron and so on. As victims they get TV air time, international aid, sympathy from western states and still can try to achieve the goal of Jihad (holy war) against Israel.
Jerusalem is Israel and Israel is Jerusalem, no Jew in the world will deny this. Jerusalem is the heart of the Jewish people and we cannot let this heart be operated on, cut, divided or (G-d forbid) removed. Back in the times of King David, there was a legion whose only responsibility was to protect Jerusalem... these were great men. Now we have no king and we have no legion, the closest thing we have is our desire to live in our holy land with Jerusalem as it's capital. The IDF shall be our Legion.
We must all do our part to stop Obama from trying to dictate the negotiation of Jerusalem and we must do our part to not allow Benjamin Netanyahu to even consider Jerusalem as part of the agenda for talks.
Write people, call people, talk to people... let us organize so we can be heard and save Jerusalem.

Netanyahu Delivers His Speech to the UN/ Amos and Israel

One cannot read Old Testament Prophets concerning Israel in the latter days and not know we are already there!
One example: The book of Amos progresses from scathing judgments on Israel's enemies, (read them carefully, you'll notice some interesting facts about familiar countries) to a rebuke of Israel for her transgressions and a pronouncement of judgment because she has turned away from the Lord and from following His Law of righteousness, ending with a promise of redemption: Amos 9:14,15 "And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land, which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God." Compare this with Ezekiel 34:28
Pray for the (true) peace of Israel and for Binyamin Netanyahu~

Bibi's Response to a Reporter plus Arab/Israeli Conflict Facts

By Jerry Golden from the Golden Report (email)

Even those who aren't particularly sympathetic to Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, could get a good measure of satisfaction from this interview with British Television during the retaliation against Hamas' shelling of Israel.

The interviewer asked him: "How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?" ( nasty question if there ever was one!)

Netanyahu: "Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?"

Interviewer: (Falling into the trap) Why not?

Netanyahu: "Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the war was caused by Germany's aggression. And in response to the German blitz on London, the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden, burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima. Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen, some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children's hospital, killing 83 little children. Perhaps you have another question?"

Apparently, Benjamin Netanyahu gave another  interview and was asked about Israel's occupation of Arab lands. His response was, "It's our land". The reporter was stunned.

Read below "It's Our Land..." It's important information since we don't get fair and accurate reporting from the media and facts tend to get lost in the jumble of daily events.

"Crash Course on the Arab-Israeli  Conflict." Here are overlooked facts in the current & past Middle East situation. These were compiled by a Christian university professor:

BRIEF FACTS ON THE ISRAELI CONFLICT TODAY...  (It takes just 1.5 minutes to read!) It makes sense and it's not slanted. Jew or  non-Jew -- it doesn't matter.

1. Nationhood and Jerusalem: Israel became a nation in  1312 BC, two thousand (2000) years before the rise of  Islam.

2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying  themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after  the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BC, the  Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand (1000) years with  a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300  years.

4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest  in 635 lasted no more than 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been  the Jewish capital.  Jerusalem has never been the capital of  any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they  never sought to make it their capital, and Arab  leaders
did not come to  visit.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in  Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures.  Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the  Koran.

7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem.  Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem.   Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: in 1948 the Arab  refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge  the land  of Jews.   Sixty-eight percent left (many in fear of retaliation by their own  brethren, the Arabs), without ever seeing an Israeli soldier. The ones  who stayed were afforded the same peace, civility, and citizenship  rights as everyone else.

10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee  from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and  pogroms.

11.  The number of Arab refugees who left Israel  in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees  from Arab lands is estimated to be about 800,000.

12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not  absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite  the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War  II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been  absorbed or integrated into their own people's lands. Jewish refugees  were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the  state of New  Jersey.

13. The Arab-Israeli Conflict: the Arabs are  represented by twenty two separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five  wars and lost.  Israel defended itself each  time and won.

14. The PLO's Charter still calls for the  destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the  Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and  has supplied them.

15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites  were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship.  Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved  and made accessible to people of all  faiths.

16. The UN Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security  Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against  Israel.

17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions  voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

18. The UN was silent while 58 Jerusalem
synagogues  were destroyed by the Jordanians.

19. The UN was silent while the Jordanians  systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

20. The UN was silent while the Jordanians  enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the  Temple  Mount and the  Western Wall.

These are incredible  times. We have to ask what our role should be.  What will we tell  our grandchildren about what we did when there was a turning point  in Jewish destiny, an  opportunity to make a difference?

The Rigged Game

The rigged game

Read all of this fascinating and informative article HERE
Tuesday the Guardian reported that the Obama administration is now making Israel an offer it can't refuse: In exchange for a government order to freeze construction for Jews in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, the administration will adopt a "much tougher line with Iran over its alleged nuclear weapons program."

Israel should refuse this offer.

What the Guardian account shows is an Obama administration looking to blame Israel for the failure of its policy of attempting to appease the likes of Iranian dictator Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Come September, US President Barack Obama is going to have a difficult time of it. Obama set a September deadline for his strategy of diplomatically courting the mullahs. This policy involves deferring further sanctions against Iran and all but openly renouncing the option of using military force to destroy Iran's nuclear installations while waiting politely for the mullahs to sit down for tea with US officials.

Far from accepting Obama's offer, the Iranians have spit on it. Indeed, they have been too busy brutalizing their own people and building bombs and missiles to even respond to him directly. Instead, they have signaled their contempt for Obama by promoting known arch terrorists to high office. For instance Ahmadinejad just appointed Ahmad Vahidi, the suspected mastermind of the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people and the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia where 19 US servicemen and women were murdered to serve as Defense Minister.

In support of Obama's appeasement efforts, both the House and the Senate Foreign Relations committees set aside veto-proof bills that would place sanctions on companies exporting refined fuel to Iran. But Congress, now on summer recess, reconvenes in September and members are anxiously awaiting a green light from the White House to put the bills before a vote.

So unless something saves him, Obama will look like quite a fool next month. His appeasement policy has given the mullahs eight precious months of unimpeded work at their nuclear installations. Their uranium enrichment facility at Natanz is now operating some 5,000 centrifuges with another 2,400 centrifuges about to go online. That is an eightfold increase in centrifuge activity from a year ago.

Obama now turns to Israel to avoid embarrassment. If he can convince Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that the White House will only get serious about Iran's nuclear weapons program if Netanyahu freezes Jewish building in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, then Obama can present his sudden willingness to sign on to veto-proof Congressional sanctions legislation not as a consequence of his own failure, but as a result of Israeli pressure.

If Obama succeeds in getting Netanyahu on board, the American media discussion of sanctions will focus on the issue of Israeli power over US policy. The so-called Israel lobby will be pummeled as pundits argue about whether Obama was right or wrong to succumb to Israeli pressure to support Congressional sanctions. No one will remember that Obama was forced to support the sanctions because he had no other choice, since next month his engagement policy will become indefensible.

On the other hand, if Israel refuses to play ball and doesn't provide Obama with a concession which he will be "forced" to pay for with a harder line on Iran, then he will still have to adopt a harder line on Iran. In this case however, it will be attributed to the failure of his appeasement policy towards Iran rather than to the success of his Middle East diplomacy against Israel.

Obama's apparent interest in setting Israel up as the fall guy for the failure of his engagement policy is the same policy he will doubtless follow if matters continue on course and Iran acquires nuclear weapons. At that point, Obama can be counted on to claim that it was Israel's recalcitrance in the negotiations with the Palestinians or the Syrians or the Lebanese that forced the mullahs' hands. That is, he will say it is the absence of "progress" in the "peace process" due to whatever imagined Israeli intransigence that made it impossible for the Iranian "moderates" to convince the "hardliners" to give up their nuclear weapons program.
................
The lesson of all of this for Israel is clear. Whether Netanyahu is dealing with Obama or European leaders, the game is rigged against us. Any move that Israel makes towards these leaders will simply facilitate their further castigation of the Jewish state and support their clear intentions to do nothing to prevent Iran from acquiring the means to destroy Israel.

As we have been all too often in our history, today Israel stands alone against our enemies. We can either defeat them, or we can be defeated. The choice is ours.

Bibi, Don't Give In!!

Ketzaleh in Last Minute Appeal: 'Bibi, Don’t Give In'
(IsraelNN.com) With Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu getting ready to leave Jerusalem and travel to Washington DC, MK Ya’akov (Ketzaleh) Katz, chairman of the Ichud Leumi (National Union) party, fired off a last-minute appeal to the prime minister to remain strong in the face of pressure to agree to a “two state solution.”

According to reports from the U.S., President Barack Obama intends to pressure Israel to agree to the “two state” formula, which would involve the establishment of a potentially hostile Arab state in Israel’s mountainous Biblical heartland.

Demonstration Thursday outside PM's home: 'One Land for One Nation.' (Israel News Photo: Flash 90).

Ketzaleh wrote: “You were elected by the majority of the Jewish public in Israel which trusts you not to stray from the promises you gave it during the election campaign, to safeguard the Land of Israel for the Nation of Israel alone, and to end the discrimination against the pioneers who settle the land.”

“Just as you stood firm against domestic pressures from those who tried to cajole you into declaring support for the ‘two state’ plan, so you will know how to stand firm in the face of the nations of the world, lest this evil plot be realized in our Holy Land,” he encouraged Netanyahu.

“The Nation of Israel prays that you will succeed in your mission to stand resolute as the emissary of the Eternal Nation and its history, to build the Land and strengthen it,” Ketzaleh added.

Rabbi Gold: 'Pray!'

Rabbi Shalom Gold of the Union of Rabbis for the Nation of Israel said Friday that he prays that Netanyahu will carry out the mission that has been assigned to him at this time. “We must pray that Hashem will give strength to Binyamin Netanyhau in this critical mission,” he said.

“He is now facing an entire array of people who want to force upon us the ‘final solution of the Jewish problem,’ – ‘two states for two peoples.’ This is a solution that began back in the days when Tzipi Livni (Kadima head) believed that she would be the midwife of the Palestinian State. Such a state is an existential danger to Israel,” he warned.

Netanyahu has the rhetorical gift and he can withstand pressure from the U.S., Gold estimated. “He must stand firm in front of his American counterpart, he said, “because one mistake by him could bring great sorrow to generations.”
