Today, this whole week, we remember those Jews in Europe who were slaughtered without pity by Hitler and his Nazi regime. The Sho'ah, or calamity, as it is called in the Hebrew. But why did it happen? Many uninformed people may point fingers and say this or that reason, but the truth is, God, Himself, said it would happen and why, through Moses in Deuteronomy 28:56-67.
If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD,
Then ...
And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess.
Then the Lord will scatter you among all people, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have know - wood and stone.
And among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and anguish of soul.
Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life...
but just as God pronounces judgment, He gives hope:
Zechariah 1:14-16
So the angel who spoke with me said to me, "Proclaim, saying, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts: "I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal.
I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; for I was a little angry, and they helped - but with evil intent."
Therefore, thus says the Lord: "I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it," says the Lord of hosts, "And a surveyor's line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem."'
One thing I learned today, is that God gave warnings to the Jews in the Diaspora (the dispersion of Jews outside of Israel) through many important figures such as Ze'ev Jabotinsky, Theodore Herzl, Max Nordau, to return to Israel, but they would not listen. They loved their lives in Europe too much. There is no blame to be placed on God, concerning the Holocaust. He warned them to return to Israel, where He would have protected them. He even moved on Arthur Balfour through his believing aunt, to open up the land then called Palestine, so that Jews could return. Hitler's armies came as far as the Balkans and Greece and as far as Alamein near Sinai, but the Lord never allowed His land to be defiled by them. The Jews could have been spared, had they heeded the warnings. Sadly, many Jews in America are like that, today...they love their lives of ease and prosperity. They don't want to return to Zion.
I would move there in a heart beat!! So, now you know. If anyone brings up questions about the Holocaust/Sho'ah, you can point them to the Word of God. The Judgment was fulfilled and the Blessings will BE fulfilled, too... Watch!!

My former pastor used to say he believed God used Israels adversaries to move Israel out of their land of ease (such as in Egypt and the plagues). I tend to agree.
God's heart is for Israel. He waits in anticipation for their salvation or realization of Jesus as Messiah.
Thank you for this. I am thankful for this site to keep people like me informed.
I thought it was nearly impossible to decipher a tragedy of such magnitude as the nazi holocaust given all the intricate details that to this day baffle the most brilliant historical minds. Hitler mentioned God with such well acted reverence that it is no wonder he fooled millions into blind stupor while the darkest plans for the Jews were underway. I am broken by that tragedy and furthermore amazed that it eclipses even Josef Stalin's massacre of a larger number of people, all because Hitler's massacre pointed to a strategically biblical nation
Only when Jesus the awaited Messiah of the Jews comes back to rule the world for a thousand years from Jerusalem as told in the book of Revelations will the Jewish Nation know why God permitted the Holocaust to happened. Till that time comes there is no answer to such horrendous suffering of God's people. We are our brothers keeper of mankind if we stand up against evil and denounce it.
So true, Miguel! Thank you for visiting and your insight!
