A NEW YEAR . . . A NEW BEGINNING
It can be a time to abandon harmful habits and lifestyles. Relationships can be healed. Families can be drawn closer together. The New Year must also be a time of forgiveness toward others. If our walk with the Lord was less than it should have been, He is patiently waiting for us to restore our trust and dependence in Him. The list could go on and on.
Each of us should take the time to sit quietly with a note pad and write down all the ways we have been blessed by God. As the songwriter once wrote, “Count your many blessings, name them one by one. Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.” If we are honest and focus on them, the list will soon become very long. We all have been truly blessed beyond measure.
We must praise God and thank Him every day for His goodness, for abundantly providing for our needs, and for keeping us safe in the palm of His hand. Above all, we must humbly thank God for His matchless gift of salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and resurrection, freely offered to all who choose to reach out by faith alone to receive it.
The Old Testament prophet Jeremiah wrote these words as recorded in Lam. 3:22-23 NASB, “The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
When we rise up each morning, a spirit of praise and thanksgiving should be in our hearts and on our lips. We need to say, “Thank you Lord for this day You have made. Thank You for allowing me to be a part of it. Help me to rejoice and be glad in it. Show me what You would have me do today that I might do it all for Your honor and glory.”
The psalmist penned these words in Ps. 34:1 NASB, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” In Eph. 5:18 the Apostle Paul tells us to thank God always for all things in the name of Jesus our Lord.
Psalm 103:1 instructs us to bless the holy Name of the Lord with all that is within us. This scripture simply means we are to be passionate in our thanksgiving, in our praise and in our desire to serve Him. Are we passionate in our desire to honor and serve Him?
Perhaps during the past year we did not allow God to be first in all things of our life. Maybe we have become complacent toward Him, or lack the desire for a personal relationship with Him as He requires of us. We must remember that God loves us and as Ps. 145:18 explains, He is near to all who call upon Him.
As we humbly seek His face in prayer, we must call out to Him as the psalmist wrote in Ps. 139:23-24 NASB, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Then in Ps. 51:10 NASB he writes this fervent prayer, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
God’s requirements for His blessing on our lives include humility, prayer, devotion and repentance. When we become sincere and passionate in our desire to follow Him, then God will hear us, forgive our sins, answer our prayers and pour out His blessings on us. As promised in 2 Chron. 7:14-15 NKJV, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
I urge you to begin the New Year with a firm resolve to pray to the Lord and read His Word daily. As we do that, God will speak to us and reveal Himself to us in ways we can’t imagine. Talking with Him and studying scripture is not just a good idea. God commands us to do it. From 2 Tim. 2:15, we are to be diligent in our study of scripture to accurately know the word of truth. We are told in 1 Thess. 5:17 to pray without ceasing. Jesus said in Matt. 6:5 NASB, “When you pray...” Notice that He didn’t say “if” you pray. He said “when” you pray.
Clearly, it’s impossible for us to have a personal relationship with someone we don’t know or understand. If we don’t talk with God as we would talk to a close friend, or listen to what He has to say through the scriptures, then a relationship with Him simply cannot exist. However, those who truly know Him as their Savior and Lord have placed their complete dependence and trust in Him. They have comfort through prayer and His written Word. He is their friend, their guide, their Savior and Master, and their blessed hope for all eternity.
If you have never been born again (John 3:3) by deliberately inviting Jesus into your heart and life, you can do that today. When you have Him in your life, you will truly experience a new beginning because all things will change forever.
However, before you can do that you must understand that you are a sinner in the eyes of God and need the Savior in your life. You must be ready to humbly cry out, “Oh God help me! I am a lost sinner! I need You in my life! Oh God help me now!”
Then just open your heart to Him. Don’t worry about saying everything perfectly. As long as it comes from your heart, He will hear you. When you pray just say something like this, “Dear God, I realize that I am a lost sinner. You sent Your Son Jesus to shed His blood and die on the cross for me in my place. I believe what You did for me and want my sins forgiven and washed away. I confess them to You now and invite Jesus into my heart and life as my Savior and Lord. Help me to turn away from my old ways and lead a life that is pleasing to You. Thank You for saving me today in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Whether you just said a prayer to give your heart to the Lord, or perhaps you have simply re-dedicated your life to Him, nothing will ever be the same as you live for Him. He will put His strong arms around you and will lead you by the hand as you go through the trials of life.
Jer. 29:11-13 NASB, “For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
When you begin the New Year with the Lord by your side, it will truly be a new beginning for you like none other, and it will be for all eternity. Praise God for His amazing grace!

Rejoice, Yerushalayim (Jerusalem)
I have posted watchmen on your walls, Yerushalayim;
they will never fall silent, neither by day nor by night.
You who call on Adonai, give yourselves no rest;
and give him no rest till he restores Yerushalayim
and makes it a praise on earth.
Adonai has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm:
“Never again will I give your grain to your enemies as food;
nor will strangers drink your wine, for which you worked so hard;
but those who harvest the grain will eat it with praises to Adonai;
those who gathered the wine will drink it in the courtyards of my sanctuary.”
Go on through, go on through the gates, clear the way for the people!
Build up a highway, build it up! Clear away the stones!
Raise a banner for the peoples!
Adonai has proclaimed to the end of the earth,
“Say to the daughter of Tziyon, ‘Here, your Salvation is coming!
Here, his reward is with him, and his recompense is before him.’”
They will call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of Adonai.
You will be called D’rushah [Sought-After],
‘Ir Lo Ne‘ezvah [City-No-Longer-Abandoned]. From the Complete Jewish Bible.
Yerushalayim will be divided by the Anti-Christ. He will make a 7 year peace treaty with Israel and break it 3 and a half years later. It’s at that time God will stand up for His people and destroy those nations that have come against Israel and divided her land. Zechariah 14. Our part is to pray now, and Trust the Lord with all our hearts. Be watching, be ready~the Lord will keep His Word…all of it!
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Yerushalayim; may those who love you prosper. May shalom be within your ramparts, prosperity in your palaces.

A War To Win...
Now, more than ever, we need to storm heaven's gates and lift our hearts and voices in fervent prayer for Israel. We dare not shirk this awesome responsibility to pray for the peace of Zion (Jerusalem) and its inhabitants. Psalm 83 is taking place and Ezekiel 38 could be right on its heels. The Mid East is on fire, and God will not be mocked by barbaric hoards who worship a false god and his false prophet and call for the destruction of Jews.
A battle rages in the heavenlies, as Adonai Elohei Tzva'ot (the Lord God of Heaven's Hosts) sends His angels to fight against the principalities of evil in that region. We have the privilege of fighting along side them, and by our anointed, effectual prayers, we can help them bring down the dark powers. Gear up, Soldiers. The Lord of Lords is leading the charge, and we have a war to win!

THE SAVING GOSPEL FROM A TO Z
"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God."
"But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
"For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
The absurd notion of St. Peter standing at the heavenly gate with a clipboard in hand, asking those standing in line whether they have been bad or good, is a worldly fairy tale. Although it has been the subject of many jokes, some people actually believe it. The truth is, however, that story is a mockery of the Word of God.
The cost of the reservation was paid by Jesus' shed blood and death on the cross where He suffered and died in our place to purchase our redemption. He took all the sin of the world upon Himself, including yours and mine, and paid sin's full price for us in our place. Then, by His resurrection, He was victorious over death and the grave, that all who believe might have eternal life through Him.
His sacrifice is a free gift offered to all who would humbly reach out to accept it. We must believe in our heart that He paid the sin penalty in full for you and me...that we are forever lost without Him...and that anything we attempt to do of ourselves to earn salvation, or to make ourselves more worthy in the eyes of God, is all for nothing.
His salvation offer requires that we place our complete faith and trust in Him alone...that we ask forgiveness and repent of our sin-filled life...and that we invite Him into our life, changing us into the person He would have us be. Finally, we must boldly declare before others that Jesus is Lord of all.
Jesus said that He is the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life. He alone holds heaven’s reservation for you and me, but we must deliberately reach out to receive it. Without it, no one will enter through heaven's gate.
Are you absolutely certain you have your reservation? You must be very sure!

Yom Kippur...Forgiveness
Tonight, at sundown, (Tishri 9 or September 25, 2012) Israelis will humble themselves before God in prayer, fasting and abstaining from any kind of work or personal pleasure. All forms of entertainment shut down, restaurants and businesses close. It is the highest Holy Day of Israel, Yom Kippur, and the nation of Israel observes it together as one people. While it leaves them vulnerable, I believe God surrounds them with His hand of protection, and we have the privilege of covering them with our prayers.
Leviticus 16:29 "It is to be a permanent regulation for you, that on the tenth day of the seventh month, you are to deny yourselves and not do any kind of work, both the citizen and the foreigner living with you. For on this day, atonement will be made for you to purify you; you will be clean before Adonai from all your sins. It is a Shabbat of complete rest for you, and you are to deny yourselves.
Leviticus 23:26-32 Adonai said to Moshe, "The tenth day of this seventh month is Yom-Kippur; you are to have a holy convocation, you are to deny yourselves, and you are to bring an offering made by fire to Adonai. You are not to do any kind of work on that day, because it is Yom-Kippur, to make atonement for you before Adonai your God. Anyone who does not deny himself on that day is to be cut off from his people; and anyone who does any kind of work on that day, I will destroy from among his people. You are not to do any kind of work; it is a permanent regulation through all your generations, no matter where you live. It will be for you a Shabbat of complete rest, and you are to deny yourselves; you are to rest on your Shabbat from evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening."
God was emphatic about denying oneself...it was to be a day of repentance and seeking forgiveness for ones sins. Jews today fast, do not bathe or use personal cosmetics of any kind, engage in marital relations, or wear leather shoes. This is to show a sincere, humble attitude toward God. No food or drink keeps ones mind focused on God and fosters sympathy with those who are poor and without basic needs. Refraining from bathing and using personal body and beauty products is a reminder of those who do not have such comforts. Denying marital relations lets one feel for those who are lonely and without someone special or family. Refraining from wearing leather, which comes from a slaughtered animal, shows a respect for God's creation while seeking His forgiveness.
At the time of the giving of this commandment until the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70, the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies through a heavy curtain of separation and make atonement for the nation of Israel.
As true Believers in Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Messiah), we know His death on the crucifixion stake (cross) rent the veil of separation, and with His resurrection from the dead, we now have Yeshua as our High Priest, who made a way for us to enter the Holy of Holies into God's presence. For us, observing Yom Kippur is not a matter of works for salvation, but rather a celebration of a righteous holy God accepting the sacrifice of His righteous, holy Son, Yeshua/Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins.
May it at least be a day of intense prayer for our nation and for the nation (not state) of Israel.
Shalu Shalom Yisra'el/Yerushalayim~Pray for Israel, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

FROM DEEP VALLEYS TO THE MOUNTAIN TOPS
Perhaps I can understand some of what they might be going through because I have also faced formidable trials more than a time or two during my life. Yes, there were times when I found myself in a deep valley with a steep mountain blocking my pathway. But, do you know what? God is in the business of moving mountains for us if we have placed our complete faith and trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord of our life. Although none of us can know what tomorrow might bring, He knows of all our tomorrows and beyond.
In Jeremiah 29:11-13 we read: "'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.'"
That is a great promise for all who have committed their life to Him! Jesus’ hand is always outstretched and ready to receive all who are willing to reach out by accepting Him as Savior, and by declaring Him Lord of their life. Take His hand and hold on tightly! Ask Him to lead you each step of the way through the dark valleys, and He will do it according to His plan for your life. Cast all of your concerns on Him and trust Him, for He desires to have a day-by-day personal relationship with His own. He cared for me in my times of need...and He can do the same for you.
Perhaps you already possess the heart knowledge of salvation, grace, and the comfort He freely offers to all who would choose to accept it. If so, you need to praise God and thank Him! But if not, then, turn to Him today. Reach out and receive Jesus as Savior and Lord of your life. Place your complete faith and trust in Him and His promises. Then, follow in His footsteps as He leads you out of the dark valleys and into the sunshine on the mountain tops.

Not Backing Down on This... It's That Serious!

GLORIOUS THINGS ARE SPOKEN OF YOU, O CITY OF GOD!
1 His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 The LORD loves the gates of Zion
More than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken of you,
O city of God! Selah
After another busy day, I finally sat down to relax and watch some TV - hoping to catch up on the latest news. However, my channel surfing stopped when I came upon a repeat performance video of a Bill Gaither concert filmed a few years ago in old Jerusalem. It was titled, "Israel Homecoming".
Perhaps some of you have seen it before. With the music, the scenery, the worship, and with the Biblical historical and future significance Israel will surely play in the days ahead, it's very moving - bringing tears to my eyes. If you have a love for those things, as I do, I would recommend seeing the video when you have the opportunity. It is very well done and would bless your heart.
As a Bible believing child of God, I have a deep love for Israel and the Jewish people. I would have loved to visit there sometime during my life. Just the thought of breathing the air that Jesus breathed, standing on the ground where He stood, seeing the sights He saw, walking the same dusty roads He walked, and savoring the sweet fragrance of the Holy Land in bloom is overwhelming. I can only imagine.
Also, it would be humbling beyond description to see the places where He performed His miracles, the Garden of Gethsemane, Mt. Calvary, the Mt. of Olives, the empty tomb of our risen Lord, and so much more - not to worship or idolize those places, but to simply stand in awe of my Savior, Lord and Master, Who was there and will return soon as King of Kings and Lord of Lords - just as He said He would.
Praise God and hallelujah! What a glorious day that will be for all who belong to Him!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for the privilege we have of sharing with You during our times of sadness, discouragement, and thanksgiving, too. Thank You for being there where we are, and for Your mighty hand of strength, healing, and comfort in our times of need. Lead us, Lord, in the way You would have for us...for we are weak and worn from the storms. Keep us safe and secure in the shelter of Your arms, and never let us go. Search our hearts, O Lord, and if any wicked way be found there, flood our hearts and souls with Your cleansing power as You have promised to do for Your own. Teach us to lean on You and depend on You in all things, that we would cast aside our concerns of life. Thank You, Father, for Your salvation freely offered to all who would believe. We pray that many would do that...even today. We love You, and desire to serve You with everything within us for Your honor and glory. I ask and pray these things in the precious Name of Jesus...that Name above all names. Amen!

Explanation of Islam's Agenda
A German's View on Islam - worth reading This is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read. His references to past history are accurate and clear. Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. The author of this email is Dr. Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist.
A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.
'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.'
We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.
The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.
The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.
Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant.. China 's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.
And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?
History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.
Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.
Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.
As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts--the fanatics who threaten our way of life.
Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on!
Let us hope that thousands, world-wide, read this and think about it, and send it on - before it's too late.
Now Islamic prayers have been introduced into Toronto and other public schools in Ontario, and, yes, in Ottawa too while the Lord's Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?) The Islamic way may be peaceful for the time being in our country until the fanatics move in. And we are silent.......

Ad Slams President's Israel Record...
Ad Slams Obama's Israel Record in Newspapers Across America
by Rachel Hirshfeld
from Arutz Sheva... IsraelNationalNews.com
The Emergency Committee for Israel (ECI) political advocacy organization published a full-page ad on Thursday in 23 Jewish newspapers across America highlighting liberal criticism of President Barack Obama’s stance toward Israel.
"President Obama has been trying to have it both ways -- pursuing policies that weaken the U.S.-Israel alliance while boasting on the campaign trail that he is the most pro-Israel president since Truman," ECI’s executive director Noah Pollak said in a statement. "As the Obama campaign attempts to mislead about the president's record, it is important that American Jews understand what many prominent liberals are now conceding -- this president's approach to Israel has been hostile, ineffective, and at odds with the promises he made in 2008."
The ad, which is said to reach approximately 600,000 Jewish voters, details Obama’s “deeply troubled relationship with the pro-Israel community over the last three years, and the mounting danger to Israel posed by an Iranian regime that is closer than ever to obtaining a nuclear weapon.”
U.S. Ambassador to Israel under President Clinton Martin Indyk is cited as saying, “From his first day in the White House, he put the Middle East at the top of his political agenda. Unfortunately for him, his personal involvement only made things worse.”
“The president sees how the Iranians mock him- and does nothing. He sees radical Islam approaching the nuclear brink- and does not budge. ...The president is pushing Israel into a corner, but is hoping that Israel will accept its fate submissively,” reads a comment by Ha’Aretz columnist Avi Shavit.
“We believed from that point that we were in for problems. And we were right,” said national director of the Anti-Defamation League, Abraham Foxman.
The ad even cites a former ‘Palestinian’ political adviser as saying that Obama’s Mideast political agenda has consistently shown “a complete lack of an emotion-based relationship with Israel.”
The ad concludes by asking: “What will they be saying after another four year of Obama?”

Isaiah 17 and 19...Current Events
Are you paying attention to the headlines about the latest developments in the Middle East? You don't need a newspaper, or the internet, you can read about them in the Bible!
Isaiah 17 begins: "The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." Isaiah 19 begins: "The burden against Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; the idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, and the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.“I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; everyone will fight against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, and they will consult the idols and the charmers, the mediums and the sorcerers. And the Egyptians I will giveinto the hand of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,” Says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.""
These things are happening before our very eyes! They were the headlines in the news this weekend, June 17th, 2012! BUT... "We can't be living in the last days." "We don't need to worry about such things, we need to make the world a better place." "Every generation thought they were the one in which the Lord would come back." I hear this, even from my own family. And yet, nothing like what has happened in my generation has ever happened before. Israel has become a nation once again. Jews have had their ancient language, Hebrew, restored. Eretz Isra'el, (the land of Israel) left to dry up like a desert for thousands of years, is now blooming and prosperous. Prophecy, after prophecy is being fulfilled. That which the Lord spoke thousands of years ago, even before Yeshua/Jesus was born, is now being fulfilled. These are prophecies of the last days-the days in which we live.
You can scoff. You can ridicule. You can brush it off. You can ignore. But you can't argue with God and what He has spoken in His Word! He has proven Himself faithful in every aspect of fulfilling His promises, both positive and judgmental.
"No man knows the day or the hour." So some argue. But Yeshua/Jesus said in Luke 21:28: "And when these things BEGIN to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near." He went on to say in verse 36: "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that SHALL come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
To get the whole picture, read between verses 28 and 36, then read the whole chapter. Part of it is for the remnant Jews living during the first three years of tribulation. Part of it is for us, living in the days prior, when He said He would come as a thief in the night to those who are not looking for Him to come back. We are children of the Light...and He admonishes us to not be as those who walk in darkness, but to be aware of what's happening and to be watching and ready for His return!
Are you?

Isaiah 19-Egypt...Last Days
